"We loved our stay at the Bershire cottage. The owners Shira and Bruce were quick to respond and very accommodating. The cottage itself was perfect. Decorated beautifully, immaculate, and thoughtfully stocked (there was even wine and cookies left as a welcome). The cottage is located in on a very private lot with beautiful views. A quick 7 mile drive and you are downtown Great Barrington. We found the location central to exploring all that the Bershires has to offer. Thank you Shira and Bruce for sharing your little slice of heaven. We can't wait to come back!"

  • comfortable home in a beautiful setting

"My brother, sister-in-law, dog and I came up for a weekend of downhill skiing at Butternut (in Great Barrington), and snowshoeing in Kennedy Park (in Lenox). This house was perfectly situated to both locations, and gave us a warm, comfortable home base in which to relax after our outings. Though central to these surrounding towns, it has the feeling of remoteness due to the amount of land and way it is tucked away in the woods. We found the house roomy, warm and well furnished, with comfortable beds and a nice eat-in kitchen. There is a magnificent fireplace which we used every night, with plenty of firewood and kindling available. Due to the snow cover, it was impossible for us to explore the grounds very much, but it looks to be a lovely place to come in the summer for hiking, etc. Thanks very much to the owners for allowing us the use of their lovely home! Hope to be back one day. :)"

  • Tanglewood Treat

"The house was perfect for our group of 6 who stayed for 4 nights over the 4th of July weekend. We had tickets for James Taylor and for the BSO at Tanglewood. We loved the decor, the great dinnerware and glassware, the location (so close to Tanglewood!), and the outdoor spaces. We used the deck and the screened porch constantly. It was nice to have a big recycling barrel. We did not need to use the a/c, tho it would have been good on a hot/humid day. In addition, the house was within walking distance of The Mount (Edith Wharton's house and grounds) and very convenient to Lenox, Lee and Stockbridge. Susan, the owner, was very accommodating and helpful."

  • Lovely cottage

"My husband and I rented for two weeks and got a real feel of Lake Garfield and the Monterey area. We had a wonderful time and the owners are extremely responsive and helpful. The cottage is adorable with amazing views. I love the two porches, one screened and the other in the open. The only negative is the long trek to the dock. But, the steps are very shallow and pretty easy overall. A lot of the houses on Garfield are up high and have steps but I'll bet they aren't as easy as these steps. Garfield is a beautiful lake, very clean, too. The area is loaded with cultural activities which really suits us. We adore the Berkshires. If you are in fairly good shape, there are no negatives to this darling cottage."
