  • Clean, well-stocked, quiet vacation rental

"We stayed here for a weekend while dropping our son off at college. Our family has used MANY vacation rentals over the years, and I have to say that this was the cleanest place we've ever stayed. The home is immaculate, which is always a great start. The owners were super-easy to work with and very responsive. An extremely well-stocked kitchen - tons of dishes and silverware. If you were hosting a large group, you'd certainly have more than enough flatware and dishes to put on quite a meal! The living room and and dining area or open and extremely light. Great space in the eat-in kitchen, as well. Really, really well laid out for family/group use. The deck and the screened porch are fabulous! The kitchen, living room, etc., are all on the second floor which makes great use of the wonderful views. Three bedrooms on the second floor, plus a good-sized and newly updated family bathroom with double sinks. On the main floor there is a large family room area with its own tv and a fold-out couch. A great "bonus" space if you want to provide some space between children and adults. Full-sized washer and dryer on main floor - super for not dragging wet/sandy/muddy clothes through the whole house. Main floor also has a bathroom with a shower. Furnishings are well-chosen and comfortable but family friendly. A few notes...the neighbors were really nice. We were here with my parents, 74 and 85. I think they would have preferred fewer stairs, but the upstairs views made it worth the climb. If their mobility was limited, this house would have been too hard for them. Be careful pulling out of the driveway - I did some damage to the rear end of our car while backing up. (Duh.) It is hard to find this place in the dark, so go slowly. I must confess that the pillows on the beds were sub-par, but we travel with our own, so not a tragedy. In fact, I think the pillows are our only negative for the whole house! We would certainly stay here again and I would recommend this space to a friend if they were looking for a rental in the area."

  • Beauty in every direction

"The centerpiece of this magnificent home is the wood burning fireplace which we enjoyed immensely while watching 8" of snow come down all around us. However, there are lots of other nice amenities in the compact space. We enjoyed the selection of board games, the record player, and perusing some of her books. Her attention to detail and utilization of space is really a model of how to live well. This secluded natural getaway was precisely what my wife and I were in search of on our anniversary weekend. We made trips to the Mass MoCA and the Norman Rockwell museums. We took in dinner from Baba Louie's in Great Barrington and did some grocery shopping at Guido's. Otis is really a charming area that is under 3 hours from NYC. KT was really great about everything as we arranged our stay. My only advice to other guests is bring a 4WD car if you have access. We rented an Altima to save a little and although it worked out fine we struggled a bit with the snow coated hilly roads. Luckily within 24 hours the plows had done a really good job. All in all a fantastic stay and we would certainly go back to recharge from city life."

  • Yearly Group Getaway

"Our group had a wonderful week here. The home is lovely with stunning views of the lake and the layout is ideal. Big open main floor living space so we could all easily interact and if wanted, plenty of places to go off on your own. The ten and twelve year olds were rarely out of the lake, except when fishing with their homemade traps off the dock. The sunsets were stunning and we had the added bonus of sighting the beavers as they swam by at the end of each day. As other reviewers have mentioned, the house was clean, well maintained and well stocked. Sarah was very helpful showing us the ropes upon arrival and I felt confident that she would have been able to quickly handle any issue that may have come up (none did!)."

  • Best kept secret :)

"This cottage did not disappoint! Our whole family really enjoyed our entire stay. From the great deck, front porch overlooking the water (dreamy views) and amenities like the modern kitchen, we felt like we were at our vacation home away from home!! The kids loved the lake (especially the cove where it's more private). We will definitely be back again!"
