"Having stayed several times before in Toby and Jane's house we knew we were in for a wonderful week! And -- we were not disappointed as the house was as perfect as ever. Toby is marvellous to deal with and provided a fine list of reasonably priced restaurants, several of which we sampled. The house was immaculate, private, quiet and the most comfortable base to explore the Berkshires. Unreservedly recommend a stay at the house in the forest.
Several highlights on this Berkshire stay were Chesterwood, the home and studio of Daniel French; a drive up Mount Greylock; and a visit to Ashintully Gardens, just down the road in Tyringham."

"The house itself is just as described - clean, comfortable, well-equipped, nicely furnished, etc. But if you arrive on a hot summer night, as we did, it is very hard to enjoy the beautiful house or views with the near constant rush of traffic (average of 5 cars and one tractor-trailer per minute) on US Route 20 only 75 feet away. Out on the deck, we found it nearly impossible to hold conversations and inside was not much better with the windows open. (Only the bedrooms are air-conditioned.) And when the traffic on Route 20 eventually slowed a bit, there was the constant drone of traffic from the Mass Pike just across the small pond. Every member of our family likes to sleep with an open window but that was nearly impossible here, even in the back bedrooms.
This is not meant as a complaint, as I probably could have guessed at this issue based on the location; rather, it is just information for other summer travelers who feel the same way about having to constantly hear traffic while they are trying to relax. Our solution was to spend less time in the house than we might have otherwise and, while in the house, to enjoy the karaoke and drown out the traffic. And good earplugs at night.
Despite the noise, we were able to have a good time, which says a lot for the good qualities of the house."

"This is our second stay at Golden Hill Farm and it's an absolute delight. The house is charming - very clean and well equipped, and the yard is absolutely beautiful. Tim was especially kind to invite our kids to feed the horses on the grounds, which they loved. Very family friendly and a wonderful spot for a Berkshires get away."

"My sister got married a couple of weeks back in Great Barrington and the other bridesmaids, the bride, and myself stayed in this house over the weekend. The scenery was beautiful and the three full baths helped us all have time to get ready in the morning. Each bedroom was very comfortable and the home had everything we needed and more. I would definitely recommend staying in this house if you are looking for a nice quiet home in a beautiful area of the Berkshires."
