  • Exactly What We Were Looking For!

"We rented the house for three days and had a wonderful stay. The house is very conveniently located, exceptionally clean, very well stocked, and very comfortable. The advertisement pictures precisely represent the house – although the house was a bit bigger than the pictures suggested. We particularly enjoyed the using the large kitchen table, perusing the area guidebooks, and resting on the very comfortable couch, chairs, and bed. Its proximity to the College and the organic grocery store Wild Oats is fantastic! Because we are tall, we were concerned after reading online reviews that the master bedroom ceiling might not allow us to move around comfortably, but it was no problem at all – the bedroom was quite comfortable. We had absolutely no problems during our stay and found Amy (our contact) professional, efficient, and a joy to correspond with. During our stay, we enjoyed talking short trips to Pittsfield to visit Arrowhead, Melville’s house, and to Sheffield to shop for antiques. Our favorite area restaurant is Mezze, located only a few minutes away, driving. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this house to others, particularly families of 3-4, or couples on vacation. It was ideal for our travel needs and far more comfortable than staying in a motel or hotel. We loved it! Thank you!"

  • Great house in a great town

"Really enjoyed this house. It's a great location in a very nice neighborhood. The swimming area at the lake is a short walk, has lifeguards and is perfect for younger kids. Well furnished, spacious kitchen, good quality furnishings and linens, very nice baths. Great Barrington is a wonderful town in a very beautiful part of the world, and there is so much to do within an hour's drive. This was our second summer renting from the owner (we stayed at her other house a couple blocks away last year) and she is great to work with."

  • Beautiful house in the woods

"We just concluded a lovely stay at this house in the Berkshires. It was tranquil and relaxing, but had all the amenities you could want. The house itself was clean and comfortable and we were able to use the screened in porch on a warm evening. The owner provided detailed information about the house and the area. We loved exploring the towns nearby, all within a 20 minute drive. (Rawson Brook Farm in Monterey has goats for petting -- great for kids! -- and Great Barrington has all the shops and restaurants you could ever want.) All in all a lovely weekend."

  • Wonderful experience

"Our stay was awesome! We were in such a peaceful state of mind after arriving that we didn't even care about doing all the things we had planned before the trip. Just being in the house, on the dock (our granddaughter's favorite spot) or walking the dirt road leading to the cottage was all we needed to do. We did go to a wonderful production of The Other Place in Pittsfield that we enjoyed very much and General Store was a great place for brunch, then again for late afternoon cookies and ice cream which we would take back to the house to enjoy with a fire and a movie. We all agreed that we really need at least one more week in our perfect retreat. Thank you for allowing us to share in the beauty and magic of your Moore Cottage, it is an experience we will always hold dear in our hearts. Kindest regards, Bill, Sandi and Camille PS-Can not wait to stay there again."
