  • A Special Place

"We would return to the Pod House in a heartbeat. It was a perfect summer getaway, set up high in the woods with a picture perfect postcard view of the distant mountain range. It's a quick drive to Great Barrington and the other wonderful Berkshire destinations, and just down the road from swimming and hiking in the state parks. The house is special, has everything you could need, and the owners are super helpful with great recommendations for places to explore and excellent restaurants in the area. My husband, two boys and I were only there one week, but it felt like a longer stay. Very relaxing!"

  • Fabulous Berkshire house!

"We first chose to rent Kim and Ray's house for a few weeks several summers ago, after looking at several others, and being struck by the beautiful setting and the light, airy feeling of the house. In fact, we loved being there so much that we have stayed there repeatedly over the past few summers, and really miss it when we don't manage to get there! Ideally located on a hilltop in Alford with fabulous views from the deck overlooking the Berkshire Mountains, it is a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of our lives in Manhattan. The house is extremely comfortable, with lots of wonderful private and public spaces. With a well-equipped kitchen, outdoor grill, and easy access to farmers markets and excellent shopping, there is little reason to go out to eat, but there are many delicious options within a short drive from the house. Kim and Ray are wonderful hosts - they are extremely responsive and nice to deal with – and we really enjoy dealing with them. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a comfortable, peaceful retreat in the Berkshires. Yoko and Joshua"

  • Great Mother/Daughter Getaway

"My daughter and I stayed over the Memorial Day week-end and this was the perfect home base. Joanne was so accommodating. I found this on Thursday night and we were able to go on Friday even though we were having some troubles with the booking site, I called her and she was SO EASY to work with. We were glad to be able to meet her and Sadie in person. As for the property..... AMAZING! The abundance of windows and their positioning make you feel like you're in a tree-house! All you see where ever you look out is green! We loved walking down the road passing all the farms in the morning and evening. It was easy to get to restaurants and grocery stores. We found a great place to horseback ride and took a day trip to Vermont! We chose to come home each night and eat in, cooking together with the beautiful sun coming through the kitchen windows - amazing! Loved the fireplace in the center of the living room and had one each night, never turned on the TV (with a 17 year-old, that says alot!). So well set-up with the what you need, but no clutter, making it simple to enjoy just being with whomever you're with. This place is great for anybody and everybody! We didn't want to leave, but we will be back! Oh yeah, and those beds. Best night's sleep EVER!!!!"
