  • Amazing getaway

"We rented this house for Labor Day/My Birthday weekend. From the moment we arrived, we felt so relaxed and happy. We didnt have great cell service (Sprint), but it really wasn't a problem. We spent the evenings playing board games or sitting out by the fire. Great place to get away and unplug!"

  • Our Wedding at August Moon

"My wife and I got married at August Moon in July of 2014. We could not have asked for a better location or property owners to work with. Every aspect of the physical property has incredible attention to detail. To say our event was successful is an understatement. The property is breathtaking and (without exaggeration) so many wedding guests called it "the best wedding ever". As we began to envision our wedding, we decided that our route would include renting a private home, bringing a caterer on-site and putting up an outdoor tent. We wanted to have a large enough site where we could fit a sizable tent and also a large enough home where we could invite a few friends/family to stay with us. August Moon fit our interests perfectly! August Moon has had numerous weddings in the past and the property owners recommended numerous vendors which we ended up using for our own event. In the months and weeks before the wedding, we coordinated everything via e-mail: four different site visits, inquiries about measurements for the tent company, inquiries about electrical specifications for the band/caterer and inquiries about misc. items such as speakers, signage, proper care of the home, etc. This invaluable, prompt e-mail communication was crucial and made for our seamless event to be so successful. Beyond the logistics for the day of the wedding, we really, REALLY appreciated the interior and exterior of the property when we didn't have to entertain 100 guests. By staying at the home for a few days before and after the wedding, we were able to fully absorb the beauty of this property. Of course being in the Berkshires is always enjoyable, but to have August Moon as home base for 7 days drastically elevated our experience. We enjoyed reading all the books in the den, cooking in the fabulous kitchen, walking through the extremely well-maintained grounds and napping in the hammock. The love and care put into the home cannot be described in words. Every room, every nook, the landscaping - the vibe reads as "home". We are grateful for the kindness, honesty and incredibly good tone that the property owners help us set. Without August Moon, our wedding simply would not have been the same. If you have any doubts about anything, just see it for yourself!!"

  • Beauty in every direction

"The centerpiece of this magnificent home is the wood burning fireplace which we enjoyed immensely while watching 8" of snow come down all around us. However, there are lots of other nice amenities in the compact space. We enjoyed the selection of board games, the record player, and perusing some of her books. Her attention to detail and utilization of space is really a model of how to live well. This secluded natural getaway was precisely what my wife and I were in search of on our anniversary weekend. We made trips to the Mass MoCA and the Norman Rockwell museums. We took in dinner from Baba Louie's in Great Barrington and did some grocery shopping at Guido's. Otis is really a charming area that is under 3 hours from NYC. KT was really great about everything as we arranged our stay. My only advice to other guests is bring a 4WD car if you have access. We rented an Altima to save a little and although it worked out fine we struggled a bit with the snow coated hilly roads. Luckily within 24 hours the plows had done a really good job. All in all a fantastic stay and we would certainly go back to recharge from city life."
