  • A Wonderful Week

"My family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful lakefront house. It was very cozy, was convenient to everything in the Berkshires, and we could hear the music from Tanglewood as we sat on our porch over looking Stockbridge Bowl. I highly recommend it!"

  • Another Great Stay!

"Once agin we completely enjoyed our week long stay in this wonderful house. It is the perfect spot for relaxation and quiet with all the amenities. We especially appreciate how immaculate and well equipped the house is -- top of line everything, lots of towels etc, and complete directions on how things work. If desired, there is satellite TV and a good selection of DVDs and books. A new feature is the back up generator which we didn't have to use but would be wonderful in a power outage. Toby is an excellent host who is prompt and efficient and great at offering suggestions about Berkshire attractions. We sampled more Berkshire riches by visiting the Freylinghausen-Morris house which is an interesting example of Modernist architecture and art and the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, a fine old style institution. Heartily recommend the house and the Berkshires!"

  • Perfectly located

"Our second time at the Mapleleaf Country house! What a great peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle. I had to study for an online course so the quiet and Internet were important to me. Pictures are accurate, plenty of basics, linens and towels. Beds are comfortable and great heating system for the cold weather stay. In the heart of the Berkshires so lots to do. Want to come back in the summer to take advantage of their deck and outdoor fire pit. Dog friendly and good for singles and families."

  • Our 2nd time - wonderful property, location and hospitality

"This property is amazing. The location is perfect - 5 mins to town, 8 mins to butternut. Set back from the road, secluded (no visible neighbors from inside the house) on a river, amazing bones (exquisite chandelier, grand piano, antique details, sweeping staircase, carved moldings and French doors, fireplaces, hardwood floors) along with great, tasteful and useful upgrades (lovely claw footed tub, new mudroom, easy access to new washer, dryer, nest heating controls, blueray player). The living space is grand and comfortable - plenty of seating (essentially 2 living rooms connected). The wood for the fireplace is accessible and plentiful - bonus there is no extra charge for wood! There are views of the river from the bedrooms - and each bedroom is tasteful and comfortable. Master is spacious. For bathing - well stocked (shampoo and body wash, plenty of towels). Water is plenty warm and water pressure great. Great dining space fits 6-8 comfortably. Kitchen is small but easy to use and well stocked. The owners are incredibly easy going, personable and professional. We were welcomed with a personal note, bottle of wine and biscotti. Any time I emailed the owner - I got an immediate and reasonable response. And as a second time renter of the property - already had established trust with the owners. Our kids talk about this house during the year - and we promise them a week next year. Highly recommend!"
