  • Beautiful, Well-situated Family Gathering Place, with everything you could possibly desire!

"Everything was perfect about this home: our family (ages 8 months to 94 yrs.) enjoyed all the activity spaces indoors and out, the well-stocked kitchen, the wonderful yard and sitting areas, and the convenience to the Stockbridge Lake (including the use of a canoe and kayak). Owner Hillary was extraordinarily helpful and patient in quickly responding to all our little planning questions. We would all highly recommend this home to anyone who would like to spend a relaxing week in a spacious, super-homey setting. While there, we enjoyed biking on the Ashuwillticook rail trail in Lanesborough, dining at the Bascom Lodge on Mt. Greylock, seeing a play at Shakespeare & Co., visiting the Norman Rockwell Museum and Naumkeag Mansion and Edith Wharton's summer home at The Mount, and eating out at Chez Nous and Sullivan Station in Lee, along with the Red Iron Inn in Stockbridge. And we only scratched the surface of things to do in this area. Would love to return!"

  • Exactly What We Were Looking For!

"We rented the house for three days and had a wonderful stay. The house is very conveniently located, exceptionally clean, very well stocked, and very comfortable. The advertisement pictures precisely represent the house – although the house was a bit bigger than the pictures suggested. We particularly enjoyed the using the large kitchen table, perusing the area guidebooks, and resting on the very comfortable couch, chairs, and bed. Its proximity to the College and the organic grocery store Wild Oats is fantastic! Because we are tall, we were concerned after reading online reviews that the master bedroom ceiling might not allow us to move around comfortably, but it was no problem at all – the bedroom was quite comfortable. We had absolutely no problems during our stay and found Amy (our contact) professional, efficient, and a joy to correspond with. During our stay, we enjoyed talking short trips to Pittsfield to visit Arrowhead, Melville’s house, and to Sheffield to shop for antiques. Our favorite area restaurant is Mezze, located only a few minutes away, driving. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this house to others, particularly families of 3-4, or couples on vacation. It was ideal for our travel needs and far more comfortable than staying in a motel or hotel. We loved it! Thank you!"

  • Great for family with young children

"I stayed here over the 4th of July. I was traveling with my husband, grown children and 3 grandchildren. We were in the Berkshires to be together, so we spent a great deal of time at the house. My preschool grandchildren loved the grounds, especially the swingset. Surprisingly there are no pictures of the family room. It is right off the kitchen and we used it more than the living room. The porches were great places to hang out as well. I would definitely return. The house needed some updating, and there was no air conditioning, but we didn't need those things and the low price more than made up for the lack of luxury. Joan provided excellent service and was easy to work with."
