  • Fantastic vacation home!

"We could not have asked for a better vacation rental! Not only is the house wonderful, but the deck, patio, and yard are beautiful, private, and peaceful. The week in the home exceeded our expectations."

  • Lives up to its billing...

"We stayed here for one week in August with two young children and had a wonderful time. This is a beautiful and well cared for home with lovely flower-filled gardens, abundant bird life (we saw hummingbirds one afternoon!), and a small ornamental pond stocked with koi for the kids to feed. Dining outside on the deck enveloped by the scent of phlox and listening to the tinkling of the water fountains makes for an enchanting evening. The house itself is about 10-15 minutes from a safe and beautiful beach on Pleasant Bay, with few waves and a gradual drop-off which makes it perfect for small children. Ten minutes' drive will take you into Chatham center whereas access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path is a scenic 1.7 miles away. There are numerous opportunities for scenic walks in the immediate area as well. The house had every amenity we could have wished for except perhaps fitness equipment, though I question whether we would have used it even if it had been available. There is a fitness club with day / weekly memberships 1.5 miles down the road but I must admit we never took advantage of the opportunity. The steam bath upstairs was a particular attraction for both adults. And for those who like to read or listen to music there is a well-stocked library of books and CD's. Many thanks to John and MaryLou for creating a wonderful environment to relax in. We're guessing we'll need to make reservations early in order to get a spot for next year...!"

  • 3 years in a row

"My family (husband + 2 kids) have rented this house three years in a row, and love it more each year. Its secluded and quiet, but easy to get to town. We walked down to the small beach at the end of the lane, or played in the large yard if we wanted to stay close to home -- or jumped in the car for a quick jaunt to another beach. The house is extremely comfortable, with just the right amount of updating in bathrooms and the kitchen, but keeping the charm of the delightful house, living room and study intact. The wireless is great - we had some work to do in the evenings, and sat together in the study -- it was so nice we almost didn't mind working on vacation! My kids love coming back to this house - they remember watching the birds and the rabbits that tend to appear in the afternoon, and also are the biggest fans of the outdoor shower. This is truly the perfect Cape house, and the best part is you know you are on the Cape, not in a soulless house that could be dropped down anywhere."

  • nice location, cute house, responsive owner

"The owners were wonderfully responsive, accommodating us on 1 weeks notice which was greatly appreciated, and promptly addressing any questions we had while we were there. The home is quite cute and well located, within walking distance of the beach, and very close to a pretty conservation area. We would definitely stay here again."
