"We had a fantastic week in Chatham and this home exceeded our expectations. Served as the perfect base for our Cape adventures. Great size for our family, very clean & comfortable, and well appointed. Nice location in a quiet neighborhood just outside the town of Chatham, yet just a few minutes from downtown and numerous beaches. Owner Gerry was extremely attentive and helpful - thank you! We have VRBO'd over a dozen properties the last 10 years and he is the best owner I have experienced. Highly recommend catching a Chatham Anglers baseball game - town ballpark is 5 minutes from the house. Drinks on the porch @ Chatham Bars Inn - a must. We also enjoyed a day trip to Nantucket - ferry departs from Harwich Port, just a few minutes west of the house (look for Groupon Summer 2014). I believe that Chatham is the perfect spot for a Cape Cod vacation, and this home is exceptional."Guest: Scott Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 1, 2014View listing
"Our family of 11 (6 adults, 5 kids) converged here from OH, VA, and PA for a fabulous week-long vacation. Chatham is a charming town that is easily accessible from this property by car or by bike path. We enjoyed dinners, shopping, ice cream, and running downtown. But we didn't really have to leave this property because our entire family was so perfectly entertained here. The kids played non-stop on the dock and small beach, then took the kayak and canoes out on the calm lake. They were particularly fond of the floating dock which they could swim or row to, and jump off. Giggles and smiles all day. We adults were able to relax on the various decks or in the house while the kids entertained one another. Sunsets on Lover's Lake are gorgeous. This house and property are so unique and charming, the town's original ice house, with its various sitting rooms, beautiful gardens, open kitchen and dining space, plus 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. It's obvious the family who owns this home has spent many wonderful years loving and caring for it, with its antiques, paintings, games and puzzles. And the owner made herself totally accessible to us for any questions, and was interested in making us completely comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped with modern ammenities, and we were offered free wi-fi. If we come back to Cape Cod, we will definitely rent this house again!"Guest: Kim S. "It's difficult to match the group with the house from thousands of miles away nearly a year in advance but this time it worked perfectly. I credit the owner with acurately describing the home, amenities, location etc....This was a 3 generation family trip and it met our needs from the 2 year old to the 61 year old. Beautifully decorated but also durable. The game room downstairs and childrens play area are amazing! Working with the owner was great from beginning to end. I felt like I was renting from a friend."Guest: Laura/Mom/Nana Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 15, 2014View listing
"The house was charming and clean, and the neighborhood was unbeatable. However if you are tall, beware of the swooping ceilings in the upper rear unit. My husband must have bumped his head three times! Also, it was easy to hear the people in the neighboring unit. Owners were pleasant, flexible and responsive to requests such as wifi password and internet connectivity issues. Only gripe was that the morning of our check out at 9:35 am as we were getting ready to pack up our bags, the owner walked right into the unit without knocking or announcing herself. We weren't sure if it was an accident or a not-so-subtle attempt to check on the status of our departure, but it certainly surprised us! When she saw we were still there, she turned around and walked back out without saying a word. It was just a bit odd (especially since our car was in the driveway right next to the unit so clearly we were still there). Other than that, it's a beautiful, historic property in an unbeatable location at an affordable cost."Guest: Barbara R. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 12, 2014View listing
