  • Lovely

"This is a lovely rental, clean and well maintained, and only steps from the sound with beautiful sunsets, and a short walk to town. The house has everything you need and is perfect for large families: Beach towels, washer and dryer, dishwasher, dishes, pots and pans (if you want to cook -we ate out mostly), out door shower and three bathrooms, fenced in yard for kids, sand chairs in the shed, and games for the evening or a raining day. A walk to town for breakfast or coffee and a pastry is always pleasant, and a glass of wine on the deck is lovely. There are a number of good places to eat in or near Harwich Port ranging from seafood shacks to gourmet dining, and on a raining day try taking art lessons (adults and children) at the Pickett Fence in town. Chatham ( the next town up) is a good place to go shopping for nice gifts for an "outing," and there are some good places to eat there too, as well as seal watching. Stop by the Chamber of Commerce in Harwich Port for brochures on activities and sight seeing. The landlord is very helpful so don't hesitate to ask for suggestions and guidance."

  • Would stay again!

"Wonderful place. First time to Cape Cod. We came in November, off season, so the place was empty and many shops/restaurants were closed but we LOVED it! No traffic, beach to ourselves (with a heavy coat of course!) The cottage is perfectly situated - Directly across the street from the beach so you don't have far to walk or have to pay for parking. On a very busy street but there are 2 crosswalks. VERY clean, everything you need including all the paper products - although it said you were supposed to supply your own. LOVED that they left shampoo from past renters so that we did not have to buy more. LOVED that they supplied sheets, even though you were supposed to bring your own. LOVED that they responded in 5 minutes when we alerted them that the Wi-Fi was out. LOVED the gas fireplace that made the place super cozy. Great having washer/dryer in the cottage too. There was even laundry soap, although we brought some just in case. Wonderful central location to explore entire Cape. Only negative was a very uncomfortable master bed HOWEVER - owner thanked us for letting them know and said they would be looking into it. They left sheets for the 2 single beds so we were able so sleep just fine - just not together. Would recommend this place and would stay here again."

  • Classic Cape Cod

"Just spent a week with 11 adults at this beautiful old home. Very classic Cape Cod on the water with incredible views from main rooms and many bedrooms. The home was apparently built in 1927 and still retains many family mementos, artwork, books, etc. These certainly add to it's charm. It is incredibly warm and inviting. There is room for everyone to be together or spread out. It is impeccably clean and certainly the best stocked VRBO we have ever stayed. It even had two huge pots to boil lobsters outdoors for our last night there - and the lobster bibs and little heated butter cups to make it perfect. What fun to sit out on the patio while the lobsters were prepared enjoying the beautiful sea view then enjoying a dinner at an incredibly large table inside with table cloth and candles. Later, we could fall asleep listening to the waves. The location is very close to Woods Hole to catch the ferry to Martha's Vinyard and easy access to the rest of the Cape. Some of our group even made a day trip to Newport Rhode Island to see the mansions. Small caveat - and not an issue for us - there is only one walk in shower (there is a tub as well) and one bedroom on the main floor. The other showers are tub showers - on the second floor and just a tub on the third floor. If someone has limited mobility, that might be a consideration. I would love the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home again. It was everything i hoped it would be and the owners were very helpful and communicated very well. We will all have many wonderful memories of our time at Olcottage."

  • Little Slice of Heaven

"This comfy, clean and charming home offers all you need for a glorious holiday. We loved the quiet street and easy beach access. Matt is very easy to communicate with and was very helpful in suggesting daily activities. Our group of 4 ladies felt safe and at home in this great neighborhood. Wehighly recommend this property for girls trips, couples or young families."
