"What an amazing vacation! The house is perfectly situated on Bucks Pond at the end of a dead end street. The private beach is so relaxing. We enjoyed swimming, snorkeling--even pulling the beach chairs down to the private beach to read with our feet in the warm water. We kayaked daily, whether it be just around the pond, or to one of the association beaches for more swimming. Our daughters now believe that a pond/lake is better than the ocean! The wildlife was wonderful as well. My 11-year-old future ornithologist was thrilled to see a cormorant, an osprey, Canada geese, catbirds, and many other songbirds during the course of the week. We did day trips on the Cape Cod Rail Trial, to Coast Guard Beach, and to Wellfleet and Orleans. The deck was wonderful for our nightly grilling and relaxing--and NO MOSQUITOS! The house was so sunny and bright, had a large table, large living room, huge master bedroom and a well-appointed kitchen. We definitely plan to return!"

"Our family of four had a lovely and relaxing time at the Cape, and very much enjoyed staying in this house. The house was nicely appointed without being too fussy(with two small kids, that is a big bonus!), and we found it to be very clean and welcoming. The house is well situated for bay- and ocean-side beach visits, as well as town visits. Time spent at home was enjoyable by all with plenty of space to spread out in the house itself and in the surrounding yard(hammock!). We really enjoyed staying in this house and loved being in Wellfleet!"

"The cottage is tastefully decorated with all the amenities of home. Several beaches are within a five minute drive, shopping and dining options are also available within 15 minutes of driving in either direction of Rte 28 (we especially enjoyed the Mashpee Commons). We also took the Island Queen Ferry to Martha's Vineyard which was only a 10 minute drive from the cottage. The owner was kind, thoughtful and very easy to work with. We would highly recommend this property for your summer getaway."

Truly A Home Away from Home with Large Heated Inground Pool!
"We are a large group of 3 families with young children. Maggie's cottage is truly a home away from home for us. The cottage was extremely well stocked: apart from the usual that you'd expect to see in a cottage rental, Maggie went out of her way to stock up condiments, plastic bags, paper towels & tissue papers, even shampoos and soaps, you name it! Everything you need in your own home, Maggie got it! The heated pool was a huge hit with the children, we even swam under the stars. One evening we lit up the camp fire in the fire pit, and roasted some marshmallows, our children still talk about that experience even today. The cottage does show some signs of wear, but Maggie’s personal touches throughout the house only add character to it.
The cottage is located in a convenient yet very quiet location: about 2 min away from a large Stop & Shop (grocery) store & the beer/liquor store. The historic Chatham is only 15 minutes away. We also saw the most amazing sunset at the Skaket beach, also just 10-12 min away and recommended by Maggie. During low tide our kids loved looking for clams, hermit crabs and horseshoe crabs there!
The only reason that I gave this cottage a 4 star is difficulty of payment: Maggie only accepts checks, and being a non-American traveler, I had to go to the bank and get a certified US Dollar bank draft to mail it to Maggie. When she returned my security deposit, it was yet another check to deposit: from USD back to CAD. It would be so much easier if Maggie could accept electronic payments. I was also a bit shocked to receive the rental agreement in an actual mail, in this age a PDF file sent as attachment would make much more sense. That being said, those are small annoyances that didn’t hinder our thorough enjoyment of Maggie’s beautiful cottage."
