  • Our Stay - August 3 - 8, 2014

"My husband and I recently returned from a vacation at this property on Waquoit Bay. Waquoit Bay is one of our favorite places to visit and our stay was delightful! The location is exactly as it is described and Carol was extremely helpful with arrangements for our kayaks. In fact, Carol was responsive and helpful throughout the rental process. We arrived a little later than we intended on Sunday and were greeted with ice in the freezer, a large bottle of spring water, and a chilled bottle of wine. What a nice touch! Carol also checked in with us via email during our stay-- another nice detail. The house is clean and charming with great character, the bed in the master bedroom was exceptionally comfortable and we really enjoyed the outdoor shower. The kitchen is modern and easy to work in. There is a TV in each of the bedrooms as well as the living room, which would be a nice feature for families. After a day on the water, it was pleasant to cook out and enjoy the view of the bay with a glass of wine or to frequent the many nearby restaurants. Carol has a list of restaurants for guests. We would definitely recommend this property!"

  • Amazing historic home in great location

"Can't wait to return to Falmouth and stay in this spacious, well-equipped house. The owner was extremely accommodating and helpful. The house had tons of room for our family to spread out and is stocked with DVDs, games, and toys. Convenient to the bike trails and a delicious brunch place across the street. There is even a market a few paces away. Falmouth itself was an adorable town and we recommend Pie in the Sky in Woods Hole. If you venture to Martha's Vineyard, we found that Chris at Harbor Taxi gives a knowledgable and interesting tour of the island."

  • Wonderful Place!

"We stayed here in June 2014 with our 3 adult children and had a wonderful time. The house had plenty of room for all of us to spread out and was well stocked with everything as advertised. The canoe was a special bonus as the pond across the street is excellent for paddling and swimming. The location provides easy access to the rest of the Cape (about 1 hr. to Cape Cod National Seashore) and Boston (about 1 to 1.5 hrs., depending on traffic, to reach the Boston subway). The house was very clean and well kept, and has window air conditioners for when the weather turns muggy. The owners were most helpful in providing complete information about the house and the area. Overall, an excellent place to stay and we hope to come back again."

  • Classic Cape Cod

"Just spent a week with 11 adults at this beautiful old home. Very classic Cape Cod on the water with incredible views from main rooms and many bedrooms. The home was apparently built in 1927 and still retains many family mementos, artwork, books, etc. These certainly add to it's charm. It is incredibly warm and inviting. There is room for everyone to be together or spread out. It is impeccably clean and certainly the best stocked VRBO we have ever stayed. It even had two huge pots to boil lobsters outdoors for our last night there - and the lobster bibs and little heated butter cups to make it perfect. What fun to sit out on the patio while the lobsters were prepared enjoying the beautiful sea view then enjoying a dinner at an incredibly large table inside with table cloth and candles. Later, we could fall asleep listening to the waves. The location is very close to Woods Hole to catch the ferry to Martha's Vinyard and easy access to the rest of the Cape. Some of our group even made a day trip to Newport Rhode Island to see the mansions. Small caveat - and not an issue for us - there is only one walk in shower (there is a tub as well) and one bedroom on the main floor. The other showers are tub showers - on the second floor and just a tub on the third floor. If someone has limited mobility, that might be a consideration. I would love the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home again. It was everything i hoped it would be and the owners were very helpful and communicated very well. We will all have many wonderful memories of our time at Olcottage."
