  • Exceeded Expectations - A Dream Vacation!

"Our family of four plus a rotating assortment of friends and other family, LOVED staying at this house, it was perfect in every way. The main house itself was so charming and accommodating and the guesthouse was absolutely lovely for our guests. We also played tennis every day - a true treat! We fell in love with Crystal Lake, so great for kids and SO CLOSE. It's centrally located in Orleans, only a few minutes from Nauset and Skaket Beaches. Pilgrim Lake is also a great place to take little kids, it has a small beach and a great swimming area. We took full advantage of the Cape Bike Trail, nightly trips to Sundae School and saw a children's play at the local theatre. We love this area so much because there is never a shortage of things to do when you're all beached-out. We are already looking forward to another stay next summer!"

  • Classy and cute, right on the water

"We had a magnificent three nights in this creekside garret. The thoughtfully chosen antique chairs and fainting couch were a great change from the usual mass-produced vacation chic that most rentals by the beach are awash in. The location is unbeatable: Everything in Wellfleet was in walking distance, and it was so relaxing to be able to go dinner or coffee or hop up to the library without getting in the car. And in the evenings, we could walk right across the wooden footbridge to take in the sunset, watch the tide roll in, or gawk at thousands of stars. The ocean with its majestic dunes and watchful seals was a quick car ride away, as were the wild walking trails of Great Island. The garret's kitchen was entirely adequate, and my partner, who is 6'0", was fine with the sloping ceilings. We had many splendid meals on the trip, including enormous breakfast burritos at Box Lunch and a fine salmon at the Wicked Oyster, but the best meal was easily Blackfish in Truro--which, if memory serves, was Brenda's excellent recommendation. Speaking of which, Brenda was an excellent host--helpful at the outset and then left us to our own devices. A memorable and rejuvenating getaway!"

"Our family had a wonderful stay here! The home is clean, warm and cozy and plenty of room for all 6 of us. The owners are very accommodating! We enjoyed the patio and yard! Great location!! Not a far drive from ocean beaches and within walking distance to Breakwater Beach, restaurants and the General Store! Loved it here!! Would absolutely stay here again!!"

Nature Lovers Will Find Their Bliss on Lieutenant Island

The sanctuary features five miles of trails that allow visitors to explore a wide array of wildlife habitats and also offers a myriad of activities for both children and adults. Lieutenant Island is a Gorgeous Blend of Land and Ocean

Lieutenant Island beach homes are a great place to stay for anyone looking for Cape Cod lodging and who enjoys a great walk or hike through nature. A hike along the shores of Lieutenant Island takes you through terrain that is part beach, part saltwater wetlands, and allows you to see all types of wildlife—from land critters like squirrels to shorebirds and even crabs and turtles. It's a great hike, no matter what time of year. As a matter of fact, if you prefer secluded, solitary adventures, go to Lieutenant Island during the winter, when the area is all but deserted and is so quiet you can hear the wildlife that surrounds you, even if you don't see it.
