  • Keep Coming Back!

"This place really is a "home away from home" and not your typical beach rental. We have vacationed at this house for the past 4 summers and each year the owners add improvements to ensure a positive stay. They truly care about their property and do their best to make sure you enjoy the property as much as they do (including a "goody basket" upon arrival!) Our kids are 3 and a 6 years old and the house is perfect for them. Large backyard for whiffle ball or Frisbee, huge deck to eat/enjoy drinks, and finish the night with a fire in the fire pit and roasting marshmellows. In addition, the neighborhood is quiet with very little traffic, which allows for plenty of safe walks, bike rides, scooters, etc. We especially like the walk to the subdivision pool, a short 5 minutes away. The pool was always a nice option in the afternoon after a morning at the beach followed by lunch and naps :) With the house centrally located to everything, it's easy to find what you want. The beach, grocery store, local outdoor marketplace, ice cream parlors, restaurants, pizza, bars, and even bowling alleys are ALL less than 5 mins away. In addition, we've taken a liking to driving the 20 minutes to Falmouth to visit the downtown area and then rent bikes to enjoy the scenic bike path along the ocean. It's important to point out that this house initially appealed to us because they have a crib ready to go so we didn't have to pack one. While we no longer need/use it, it's still in the house and a GREAT amenity for families with a little one. We keep coming back because there isn't a better place out there. The quiet, the cleanliness, the space, the owners, and the deck (!) are what makes this place special."

  • Great vacation!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at 'Starboard Cottage'. The house was as advertised and the owner, Janet, was wonderful. We especially liked the small beach that comes with the rental and used it almost every day. The surrounding community was very quiet but the location is very close to "the hubbub" of the Cape and the ferries for Martha's Vineyard. We brought our bikes and used them quite a bit. The cottage has a lot of amenities that were handy: beach chairs, a gas grill etc. and a great kitchen to help keep the cost of eating out to a minimum. Our teenagers liked the roof sundeck for sunning and lounging."

  • Perfect family getaway

"We had such a lovely time here with our 8 month old son and made memories we'll cherish forever. It was such a cute and charming little cottage and was totally perfect for what we were looking for. It's just a few steps from a beautiful and quiet beach, and has an adorable nearby village that we enjoyed walking to many mornings and evenings. If we needed a market, it was just an easy 5 minute drive away. We found the home and village to be a very quaint, comfortable, and enjoyable place to be and marveled at how unique a place it felt to be in. Almost as if time stood still. We enjoyed sitting on outside patio for meals or a glass of wine and looking at the beautiful surroundings. We had a fantastic time and would definitely come stay again. The owners were lovely to deal with and were thoughtful and very pleasant throughout the process. Highly recommended"

  • Monomoscoy Island retreat, Mashpee, Massachusetts

"Heavenly if you like birds, fresh air, nature, trees and woods. The sun rises above the river over this peaceful property. The quietness and solitude are palpable and restful. Set back from the riverfront is a large beautiful yard, many tall pine trees and a big well crafted wooden house. In wintertime, it was an oasis of tranquility. The house is so inviting and has everything you could need for weeks or months at a time. The library shelves are full of fascinating books on all kinds of subjects: art, biographies, business, cape cod, children's books, foreign languages, history, nature, philosophy, reference books, sciences. There is a closet full of family games and puzzles. We watched and listened to a never ending parade of winter land and sea birds flying or floating by: bluejays, cardinals, chickadees, crows, finches, hawks, osprey, sparrows, woodpeckers, and bufflehead ducks, Canadian geese, cormorants, mallard ducks, seagulls and swans. Monomoscoy Island is a protected wildlife preserve, and well off the beaten tourists pathways. The house was clean, dry, nondrafty, beautifully furnished, so comfortable and well kept throughout. The big kitchen is full of dishes, glasses, mugs, pans, pots and utensils. The beds were super comforting and always a good nights sleep. There is an abundance of fresh linens. Large homes are nearby, but the yard and surrounding area is private, tree-filled and woodsy. In winter it gets dark early (you can really see the constellations!) but there is good lighting inside and outside where needed. Pathways to the house are clearly marked and lighted. Well maintained wood chip strewn driveway, with plenty of parking off the short side road. Mashpee is a lovely town of Wampanoag Indian origins. Many native descendants still live in the older parts of town, and sponsor a huge powwow of costumed dancing, drumming, and a musical celebration of their Indian culture during the summertime. We loved being here in the winter, with the cold outside it never felt anything but cozy, protected and warm inside the house. The resident hosts, who live on one side of this spacious two-story duplex, were so kind, helpful, thoughtful and never endingly patient, and made sure if there were anything we needed that they were only a phone call or text away, or a knock on their door (entrance way and foyer is shared). They will probably offer you some home cooking, and it was great! Truly a serene, special, spiritual place. And it snowed too!"
