  • Fantastic location

"This rental is in a fantastic location for a Cape Cod Adventure. Having Lived on Cape Cod this rental is convenient to all amenities (the suburban chain plazas of East Falmouth) and the major Cape Highways (rt 6, 28 and 151). Allowing your family to enjoy everything the cape has to offer and in itself is a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the heavy vacation crowds of summer situated among the shady trees and the peaceful fresh water pond. It is still a good day trip to the national sea shore and to Provincetown especially during peak summer traffic but Sandwich, Yarmouth and Hyannis are all within an relatively short drive. The nearby Sandwich Heritage Museum is a must and for History buffs a quick jump back over the bridge and you have Plymouth with all it's colonial connections. The loss of one star was of minor Handy man issues mostly of cosmetic nature. For the person who has trouble sitting still and relaxing this can be an incessant distraction. One issue with the Sports fans I was with was the color on one of the two tvs which proved to confound the lot of them (Not enough for them to turn it off). For those who are there to enjoy the outdoors, the beaches, the shops, the dining and the museums the tv was of little consequence. The well stocked drawer of brochures menus and things to do proved more useful than the wifi accessibility. As we were there during the cooler fall weather we found the furnace seemed to cycle on and off quite loudly and could use a little sound proofing. this is likely not an issue in the summer."

  • Wonderful place for a week of Cape Cod family fun

"We were very pleased with the size, cleanliness and comforts of this home. Many evenings were spent eating on patio, enjoying the private wooded backyard and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. We rented stand-up paddleboards for the week and along with the owner's kayak, enjoyed many adventures on the water, an easy walk from the house to neighborhood dock area. Loved checking out the sailboats and eating at the Chart Room at the yacht club too. Beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, dishes and chairs for all. Neighbors were friendly and quiet. Played tennis and learned pickle ball from the locals. We were all very sad to leave!!!"

  • PERFECT Family Retreat

"We are a family with 3 young kids (ages 9, 6 and 4) and have, in the past several years, rented beach houses in Hawaii and San Diego, so this says A LOT: This vacation was our favorite!!! We loved visiting the small towns at the Cape, like Mashpee and Hyannis, but mostly, we are certain the vacation was extra special because of the property where we called "home" for 7 days. First, it is a house that is well-designed and furnished (not prints hung on walls and cheap furniture like some rental properties, but original artwork, high-end appliances, and custom furniture), so it felt comfortable as soon as we stepped foot inside. The grounds outside the house were full of details that seemed existent only in movie sets -- such as an extensive herb garden, flower garden, large hammock and giant wrap-around deck with plenty of comfortable seating and a top-of-the-line grill. My kids found hours of enjoyment on the super long tree swing and had a great time collecting shells on the beach. One day, they even made a fairy house. The fact that my "city kids" never missed electronics, like their iPads, and was never bored at the house speaks volumes... even when it rained for 2 days! One of my best memories during our week stay was when it rained. When the rain was light, I went outside to pick fresh herbs from the garden and was cooking in the kitchen while my husband played Monopoly in the livingroom with the kids. Because there was a large deck, we were able to leave the windows and doors open, so we could enjoy the sounds of the rain. All I heard was music, the rhythmic sounds of the rain, and laughter. It was so tranquil and... well, perfect! I will never forget our retreat on Bassett Island. My husband's favorite part of the property was having access to all the boats. He took the kids out on their first boat rides, kayaks and inner tube. The squeals of delight and looks on my children's faces are priceless. Lastly, it was a pleasure working with Rod and Murphy who own the property and Peter who is the Property Manager (and built the house!!!) Working with them was easy and they were extremely responsive to all my questions. It was like working with friends. If we didn't live clear across the country, we would come out every year and rent this gem of a property. It is clear to me that they put a lot of love and care into designing this house and outdoor area. It deserves only the best renters who will love and care for it too."
