Wellfleet Dreams Come True
"We couldn't believe our eyes when we first arrived. What a view! Absolutely ideal location. The house is impeccable with tremendous updates, furnishings, and charm. Perfect amount of space for our family of four plus an elderly mother-in-law. The downstairs bedroom suite worked just as we hoped for Grandma. The low-level deck was easy for our boys to play on and off. The upper level deck, a beautiful retreat for mom and dad. Plenty of bathroom and bedroom space for all. Our two week stay was too short. We will be back!"

"We had a magnificent three nights in this creekside garret. The thoughtfully chosen antique chairs and fainting couch were a great change from the usual mass-produced vacation chic that most rentals by the beach are awash in. The location is unbeatable: Everything in Wellfleet was in walking distance, and it was so relaxing to be able to go dinner or coffee or hop up to the library without getting in the car. And in the evenings, we could walk right across the wooden footbridge to take in the sunset, watch the tide roll in, or gawk at thousands of stars. The ocean with its majestic dunes and watchful seals was a quick car ride away, as were the wild walking trails of Great Island. The garret's kitchen was entirely adequate, and my partner, who is 6'0", was fine with the sloping ceilings.
We had many splendid meals on the trip, including enormous breakfast burritos at Box Lunch and a fine salmon at the Wicked Oyster, but the best meal was easily Blackfish in Truro--which, if memory serves, was Brenda's excellent recommendation. Speaking of which, Brenda was an excellent host--helpful at the outset and then left us to our own devices. A memorable and rejuvenating getaway!"

"What a truly fabulous house. The panoramic views of the marsh are lovely and calming. There is a baby grand piano. My husband entertained us with Neil Young songs with my son accompanying him on guitar. Yoga on the deck facing the marsh in the early morning was another plus. It is such a quaint home with nice open living space both upstairs and downstairs. Best of all dogs are allowed and our dog Reba loves it as well"

"Five stars for three categories.
SITE. Tne VRNO photo doesn't do justice to this house and setting. It's what was called a Greek Revival when it was built, probably about 1830, the last house on Old Pier Road. That means it is quiet, a two-minute walk to the cove beach, which feels like a private beach and yet is onlhy a couple of miles from Wellfleet Center. Our dog loved wandering through the tall stands of beach grass along the tidal flats.
HOUSE. The house is remarkably equipped. Paper punch? Check. Scrabble? Check. First
Aid kit? Check. LED bulbs? Check. We couldn't think of a thing that isn't supplied. That's also true for virtual things: wifi worked perfectly (except during a brief, dramatic storm) and so did premium cable on big screen TV in the LR. And Nick Nicholson, the landlord, went out of his way to reassure us about the storm -- and about any other questions.
LOCATION. Wellfleet is large enough to include almost any necessary facility, including a pharmacy and a vet. We liked playing tourist on the shopping streets there -- and were pleased to do more of that on the short, beautiful drive to Provincetown.
There were two of us for most of the week but two children and their two boys came for a couple of nights, comfortable in two addtional bedrooms. They want to come back. So do we.
