Fabulous beach cottage - excellent family vacation!
"The charming cottage is beautifully decorated and well-appointed: simple, uncluttered, well-cared-for. The real draw, however, is the location in the small cottage community just steps from a beautiful bay beach. The huge tides make for a changing beach scene, and the kids just love to hunt for hermit crabs and fish in the little backwater; the water is warm enough to enjoy swimming in; and every year we seem to meet wonderful people -- who return repeatedly, forming a great community. Totally relaxing, while having lots to do -- the perfect vacation."

"This is a remarkable property in every way - the homes, the decor, the gardens, and the location are all heavenly. However, THEY DO NOT PROVIDE LINENS, so make sure you bring your own sheets and towels (we were not prepared!). No information available about the house, other than the cleaning they expected us to do before leaving, so there is some fumbling about to find things. That said, I'd come back in a heart beat and highly recommend this beautiful, serene get away."

"We stayed at Lennie's house for two weeks last summer and we had a wonderful stay. The house is very cozy, well appointed and there is plenty of room to accommodate a family. The location is perfect: close to the beaches and to the town center, but also secluded in a quiet neighbourhood. Lennie was amazing and dealt with questions or issues very quickly. She was even nice enough to mail us back a souvenir we forgot in the house!"

"Five stars for three categories.
SITE. Tne VRNO photo doesn't do justice to this house and setting. It's what was called a Greek Revival when it was built, probably about 1830, the last house on Old Pier Road. That means it is quiet, a two-minute walk to the cove beach, which feels like a private beach and yet is onlhy a couple of miles from Wellfleet Center. Our dog loved wandering through the tall stands of beach grass along the tidal flats.
HOUSE. The house is remarkably equipped. Paper punch? Check. Scrabble? Check. First
Aid kit? Check. LED bulbs? Check. We couldn't think of a thing that isn't supplied. That's also true for virtual things: wifi worked perfectly (except during a brief, dramatic storm) and so did premium cable on big screen TV in the LR. And Nick Nicholson, the landlord, went out of his way to reassure us about the storm -- and about any other questions.
LOCATION. Wellfleet is large enough to include almost any necessary facility, including a pharmacy and a vet. We liked playing tourist on the shopping streets there -- and were pleased to do more of that on the short, beautiful drive to Provincetown.
There were two of us for most of the week but two children and their two boys came for a couple of nights, comfortable in two addtional bedrooms. They want to come back. So do we.
