  • Classy and cute, right on the water

"We had a magnificent three nights in this creekside garret. The thoughtfully chosen antique chairs and fainting couch were a great change from the usual mass-produced vacation chic that most rentals by the beach are awash in. The location is unbeatable: Everything in Wellfleet was in walking distance, and it was so relaxing to be able to go dinner or coffee or hop up to the library without getting in the car. And in the evenings, we could walk right across the wooden footbridge to take in the sunset, watch the tide roll in, or gawk at thousands of stars. The ocean with its majestic dunes and watchful seals was a quick car ride away, as were the wild walking trails of Great Island. The garret's kitchen was entirely adequate, and my partner, who is 6'0", was fine with the sloping ceilings. We had many splendid meals on the trip, including enormous breakfast burritos at Box Lunch and a fine salmon at the Wicked Oyster, but the best meal was easily Blackfish in Truro--which, if memory serves, was Brenda's excellent recommendation. Speaking of which, Brenda was an excellent host--helpful at the outset and then left us to our own devices. A memorable and rejuvenating getaway!"

  • Loved the Yardarm!

"Our family had a wonderful time at the Yardarm. It is in a great location on a little hill where you can see the water from the house and the front yard. Our kids loved the bunk beds. We also loved the outdoor shower, cozy living room, and thoughtful details throughout the house, such as abundant hooks, towel racks, and shelves to put your things on. There are even night lights, board games, DVDs, and Netflix for the kids. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and everything you need for cooking. We loved it and had a great time!"

  • Gorgeous secluded home with spreading grounds, with finished basement, 3rd bedroom

"This secluded, beautifully decorated home, with every kitchen amenity and cool breezes and multiple decks should be on everyone's short list if you need a spacious rental home. We didn't miss AC though it is humid. The house is off Route 6 on a very long private road with just one other house. Short drive to town. You can glimpse a house on the hill opposite and at the end of the road if you walk out to see the bay filtered through trees. The large comfy living room has multiple arm chairs and couches for different projects, games or reading-- and soft nautical oil paintings. Three identical rugs connect that with the dining room, and the kitchen is open to let cooks enjoy the company. There is a huge wrap-around deck, again, lots of chairs with pretty cushions to accommodate everyone and still have space for kids to play, grills to cook on. For the night time, when Cape mosquitoes appear, there is a spacious screened in porch, a necessity in summer. The master bedroom has a Queen bed, pillowtop mattress, very comfortable and lovely furniture--a 4-poster bed, an elegant tiger maple dressing table, chest, chairs and lots of space for luggage and personal items. Tiny details reveal any extraordinary eye--alabaster lamps, an art deco lamp. The second bedroom, with the four twin beds also has beautiful objects and furnishings, far beyond what you see elsewhere in what might be called the "dormitory room." Oh, it is a really pretty room. On the first floor TV room, there also lovely pieces picked up probably from travels around the world. All the bathrooms are modern, with marble countertops, lots of space and the main floor powder room is especially attractive. The third bedroom is very large, though in the basement, and as the exterminators had just visited, it had a chemical smell, especially from the adjoining laundry room, accessed from that bedroom. It is probably not a problem when the humidity is low, but not a place to put a guest family or your parents in. However, teens would love the big TV and the multiple day beds and couches, plus the queen bed and all that space. The other point not seen in the pictures is how lovely the landscaping is. There's a vast green lawn with a hedge of blue hydrangeas and rows of yellow roses, also a small fountain. We loved it."

  • Lovely Wellfleet location

"Loved this home and the location. House was immaculate and included everything we could have needed, no need to bring anything but food! Upon arrival the home smelled wonderful from the finished basement to the top floor bedrooms and bathrooms. Loved having coffee and breakfast in the great sun room in the morning and relaxing on the cozy couches at night. Great location, close to plenty walking/running trails, plenty of beaches! Quietly nestled away from the road and heavy traffic. We visited after Labor day weekend so everything was very quiet and serene in the area, we loved it! Still warm enough to do some sunbathing at the beach and even go for a quick dip. Dulcie and Paul quickly responded to any questions prior to the trip as well as during our visit, very easy reservation process, no hidden fees or expenses. Thanks for making our vacation so enjoyable, we couldn't have picked a better place! Hope to stay here again in the future!"
