"I want to thank Carol and Joe for a wonderful week in Wellfleet. Their house was just right for us. It had plenty of space for two couples (parents and a set of married children) with private bedrooms, baths, and sitting areas for each of us and a great gathering space in the dining room and sunspace that looked out onto lovely shade trees and the salt marsh. It was warm but not too hot while we were there and we were grateful that the sunspace was sunny in the morning and shaded in the afternoon and evening. Opening the windows let the breezes blow through too. It was extra fun in the few rain showers to sit in the sunspace and watch the water pour off. The house is very nicely decorated and we couldn't believe how well equipped the kitchen was. It had every kind of dish, bowl, pan and accessory you could ever want. The house is very private but, on a sad note, you can hear the Highway 6 traffic across the salt marsh if you keep the bedroom windows open at night. I'm sensitive to noise but actually it didn't bother me at all. The location was convenient to everything from Orleans to Ptown. It was funny to us that the tradition in that part of the country is that owners don't provide linens and also apparently you can't leave food behind. It's always nice to find a supply of stuff like ketchup and mayo in the fridge. But those were small inconveniences compared to all the other amenities. So, we highly recommend this house."

"Over the years my family has rented numerous summer homes in Wellfleet. For five years, we owned one. This house rates as a favorite experience. The house is unique, modern, clean, and extremely well-appointed. The two patios, one with a table that would seat eight easily and the other in a sunny spot with comfortable lounge chairs, look down a wooded hillside. I saw hummingbirds, an owl (a real one, not the ones placed to discourage predators), and many songbirds. The perennial gardens are beautiful. The owners have furnished and decorated the house tastefully and eclectically. While everything you need is there, everything you don't need is not (for example, the medicine cabinets, bureau drawers, and bedroom closets are empty and ready for your stuff). It is extremely private and yet conveniently located because you can get to Wellfleet town and harbor on quiet back roads without getting on Route 6.
Part of the house's charm is the unique architecture. The concrete floors are cool and clean. Natural light and cooling breezes come through the skylights in nearly every room. This means that if you are light sensitive you will wake with the morning light. My guess is that some people will love this and some people will not.
We very much enjoyed our stay!"

"We just ended our second stay at this wonderful home. We can't say enough about the location, the views, the amenities and the owner. The house on the breathtaking National Seashore, steps from the legendary Beachcomber (try their Goombay Smash!), a mile or so from the Wellfleet General Store, liquor store, and 2 bakeries (do not miss PB Boulangerie - a genuine taste of France on the Cape). Route 6 is easily accessible and has numerous reasonably priced family-friendly restaurants. The owner is available and accommodating, should you need assistance of any kind. We highly recommend this home!"

"We had a magnificent three nights in this creekside garret. The thoughtfully chosen antique chairs and fainting couch were a great change from the usual mass-produced vacation chic that most rentals by the beach are awash in. The location is unbeatable: Everything in Wellfleet was in walking distance, and it was so relaxing to be able to go dinner or coffee or hop up to the library without getting in the car. And in the evenings, we could walk right across the wooden footbridge to take in the sunset, watch the tide roll in, or gawk at thousands of stars. The ocean with its majestic dunes and watchful seals was a quick car ride away, as were the wild walking trails of Great Island. The garret's kitchen was entirely adequate, and my partner, who is 6'0", was fine with the sloping ceilings.
We had many splendid meals on the trip, including enormous breakfast burritos at Box Lunch and a fine salmon at the Wicked Oyster, but the best meal was easily Blackfish in Truro--which, if memory serves, was Brenda's excellent recommendation. Speaking of which, Brenda was an excellent host--helpful at the outset and then left us to our own devices. A memorable and rejuvenating getaway!"
