  • Unique and beautifully appointed

"Over the years my family has rented numerous summer homes in Wellfleet. For five years, we owned one. This house rates as a favorite experience. The house is unique, modern, clean, and extremely well-appointed. The two patios, one with a table that would seat eight easily and the other in a sunny spot with comfortable lounge chairs, look down a wooded hillside. I saw hummingbirds, an owl (a real one, not the ones placed to discourage predators), and many songbirds. The perennial gardens are beautiful. The owners have furnished and decorated the house tastefully and eclectically. While everything you need is there, everything you don't need is not (for example, the medicine cabinets, bureau drawers, and bedroom closets are empty and ready for your stuff). It is extremely private and yet conveniently located because you can get to Wellfleet town and harbor on quiet back roads without getting on Route 6. Part of the house's charm is the unique architecture. The concrete floors are cool and clean. Natural light and cooling breezes come through the skylights in nearly every room. This means that if you are light sensitive you will wake with the morning light. My guess is that some people will love this and some people will not. We very much enjoyed our stay!"

  • Amazing property, wonderful owner

"My husband and I rented this property for some of our friends and family to stay in during our wedding week in Falmouth. We arrived to a perfectly cleaned home on Tuesday June 24th and had the most amazing week of our lives! Dennis, the owner, was easy to get in touch with and was a pleasure to work with. We spent the week enjoying BBQs, relaxing by the pool and sunbathing in the back yard, playing soccer and other fun outdoor activities in the spacious fenced in yard and making memories we will cherish for a lifetime! This is the perfect house for a group, sleeps 12 more than comfortably. Plenty of parking space and communal/lounge space. We are already talking about going back for a reunion!"

  • Wonderful for a family trip

"Abigail's Falmouth home was absolutely perfect for our family of four (kids aged 9 and 7). We came to Falmouth for a wedding and stayed for the following week, a total of 9 nights. During the wedding weekend the house was a comfortable place for extended family to come spend time with us while we were all in town and the kitchen has everything you need to cook family meals. The weather was lovely and there was so much to enjoy that we never even turned on a TV. At the house we enjoyed the quiet shady yard and herb garden, the games, puzzles, great book collection, swing set in the yard and the bikes. My 9 yr old son is an avid biker and was thrilled to find the blue bike and helmet in the shed, thanks for sharing that! From the house we biked on the Shining Sea path several times, visited Plimouth Plantation and the Mayflower, the Cape Cod Maritime Museum, the Sandwich Glass Museum, Old Silver Beach, Highfield Hall and Falmouth's pretty Main Street. We had great food at the British Beer Company, Coonamessett Farms, Seafood Sam's and Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium and we loved 18 Cousins Bookstore in Falmouth. The house helped us feel happy and relaxed and my kids made great memories there, we will stay here again if we get future trips to Cape Cod."

  • Great Home!

"Our family had a wonderful stay here! The home is clean, warm and cozy and plenty of room for all 6 of us. The owners are very accommodating! We enjoyed the patio and yard! Great location!! Not a far drive from ocean beaches and within walking distance to Breakwater Beach, restaurants and the General Store! Loved it here!! Would absolutely stay here again!!"

Cape Cod Travel Tips

When locals talk about Cape Cod, it often sounds like a Dr. Seuss book: Lower cape, upper cape, outer cape, inner cape. While it’s true that each part of the cape has its own unique characteristics, the most important thing to know as a visitor is that Cape Cod offers the freshest seafood and the most perfect, natural escape from the hustle and bustle.

Top Attractions

The biggest draw in Cape Cod is the relaxed lifestyle buttressed by a deep connection with nature.

The Cape Cod National Seashore makes up about 40 miles of seashore on the outer cape - all the way from Provincetown on the upper cape to Chatham on the lower. It includes 68 square miles of woods, lakes, ponds and beaches. Cahoon Hollow Beach in Wellfleet on the Atlantic side is simply beautiful. Come here to relax and grab a drink and some fresh clams at the Beachcomber bar. Marconi Beach, also in Wellfleet, features more crowds but stunning sunsets. Head to the beach at Chatham on the lower cape to tour the quaint Chatham Lighthouse. There are also plenty of bayside beaches in Truro and Provincetown.

As it is situated in a unique coastal and bay ecosystem, Cape Cod has several important wildlife sanctuaries that are great for an educational visit. Schedule in a visit to Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, the Wellfleet Audubon Sanctuary or Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge in Chatham to learn about the local ecosystem and protection efforts.

What To Do

If you’re on the upper cape, check out the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum for a dose of interesting history. On the inner cape catch a film at the old-timey Wellfleet Drive-In Theatre and grab some ice cream to go with at the nearby Wellfleet Dairy Bar and Grill. Wine-lovers won’t want to miss a visit to the fabulous 5-acre Truro Vineyards where you can sample Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. If you’re feeling adventurous and want to go where presidents in the past have been, pay a visit to the John F. Kennedy Memorial in Hyannis and then head to Falmouth to take a ride on The Island Queen Ferry to Martha’s Vineyard - a favorite island of presidents through the ages.

Dining and Shopping

It goes without saying that they know how to do seafood right on the cape. If you’re on the upper cape, eat at the The Lobster Pot, a landmark seafood shack in Provincetown, which serves up no-nonsense deliciousness. You’ll have great views of MacMillan Wharf and can delight in the classics like steamed littlenecks, lobster rolls and clam chowder. A more upscale P-town eatery with a stunning view is Fanizzi’s By the Sea, which serves up classics with an Italian twist.

If you’re on the lower or mid cape, delicious meals can be had at Blackfish in Truro, the Chatham Pier Fish Market (where you can also do some seal watching), Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar in Eastham and the delightfully named The Wicked Oyster in Wellfleet.

The hands-down best place for shopping on the Cape is Commercial Street in Provincetown. You can find everything here from upscale boutiques, shops selling artisanal crafts and more funky options like Marine Specialties, Inc. a kooky surplus store, or The Shell Shop, which sells tens of thousands of unique shells.

Bring your swimsuit, sunscreen and appetite in preparation for the perfect Cape Cod vacation.
