"Beautiful, spacious, pieceful place. Pictures don't really do it justice. Felt like we had walked back into another era with the tall ceilings, grand hallway and starlircase, huge bedrooms. The shaded wrap around front porch with old wicker furniture was a great place for our breakfast on the hot August days. Would definitely go back."

"We just returned after our wonderful week long stay at "The Peni". I miss this lake house already. My oldest granddaughter asked if she could live there forever. Buy it grandma, please? First off, the place was extremely clean. So important to me. The home was a sweet combo of modern and cottage and nicely decorated with some antiques here and there, but we felt very comfortable using everything. They were gracious enough to allow us to bring our elderly chihuahua, who slept comfortably on his blanket that we brought from home. The laundry room was a dream to have with 3 children and one of the bathroom showers was large and had corner seats. The cottage came well equipped with all that we needed and we definitely could have packed less. The girls fished off the dock (with luck), and enjoyed the short woodsy walk to the swimming hole that had a nice sitting area, a warf, and a canoe ready for our use. My daughter and son- in-law loved taking the boat out for some peace and quiet and my husband enjoyed fishing behind the house and at the tip of the peninsula. We were lucky enough to see the blue heron that seems to be a permanent tenant on this property as well as ducks and frogs and many cool bugs, (as the kids described them). A few walks around scored us some blueberries and grampa used them to make some great blueberry pancakes. If you love nature but still want to be close enough to do the touristy thing, this is the place for you. Now, that being said, no place is perfect, and the one thing I would like to see improved on is the squeaky foundation of the full size bed, but oh how I miss that lake breeze right now."

"Incredible home and property with fantastic hosts. John and Scott provided breakfast fixins due to our late arrival and walked us thru orientation early the next morning. The landscape is covered with beautiful flowers, birds of several varieties and hummingbirds... We walked with the turkeys and enjoyed watching a porcupine where we picked blueberries. We had coffee outside each morning and family up for BBQ and later lobster on the grill. Their photos are spot on and you'll find yourself just walking the grounds to soak it all in. The property is for sale and only hope any new owners continue to care for it as lovingly as John and Scott do. Great jumping off point to NH, South to Sturbridge and we headed over to Glouscester to explore as well. Surrounding towns are quaint and full of organic items and more. We found sleeping upstairs in bedrooms and loft great and love all their treasures. We had my daughter and granddaughter (6) and Mom-n-law with us and found the home just right for all of us ...beautiful memories."

"We chose to stay at the farmhouse because we were in town for a wedding at Hartmann's Herb Farm. We have 2 little boys, 2 1/2 and 5 months. The number of rooms was perfect because we were able to still maintain nap schedules and bed time routines while we were away for a long weekend. The location worked perfectly for us because we lots of family in Western Mass. They were able to come and visit us and just hang out. My 2 year old had an absolute blast playing in the leaves and just running around. It was so great to see him in that environment. (We live in a desert area with hardly any trees.) We loved going across the street to take a little hike with our boys and the older one was picking up sticks and just enjoying the scenery. We enjoyed the amenities of the wi-fi and directv. The time of year for our visit was just awesome and I actually scheduled some family pics to be taken at the farm. I can't wait to get those back! We truly enjoyed our time at the farm and if we ever come back to the area, this is where we will be staying! Thanks so much to Rebecca for being so accommodating!"
