  • Great little spot in East Boston

"My husband and I stayed here in celebration of our anniversary. It was the first time we'd been away alone in a long time. And we weren't disappointed. This spot on Marginal Street is everything we expected; just as advertised. The owners are very pleasant and friendly and willing to lend a helping hand. John said he was available by text if we needed any advice while touring Boston! The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. And, it was so great to be so close to the T. When we first arrived we took a walk to the park down the road. This park was such a little gem with beautiful harbor views. Great for a picnic. The apartment itself was clean and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable. We only wished we had more time to sample all the great food in East Boston and beyond. As it was, our first night we went to Italian Express in East Boston right around the block. This place had a homey welcoming atmosphere. The second night we were in Quincy Market and sat outside to eat take out after a long walking tour of Boston. A walk to North Boston during the day was lovely. We also visited the North Church and a little printing press nearby where the proprietor re-enacts printing as it was done when the original Declaration of Independence was created . We went into Paul Revere’s house. So much history and we barely scratched the surface... Oh and don't forget the little bakery next store to Italian Express. We stopped her to stock up on pastry for the ride home. Thanks John and Melissa for being as advertised!"

  • Perfect Pied-a-terre!

"Our first visit to Cambridge was immeasurably enhanced by choosing to stay in this charming studio apartment. Ideally located just minutes from Harvard Square and public transportation, the studio is within walking distance to great restaurants and shops. Located on the 4th floor of an immaculately maintained elevator building on a quiet, upscale street, the studio comes with an assortment of well chosen books, a few excellent art pieces and enough cooking supplies to get us started for cozy meals "at home." We slept like babies on the divinely comfortable murphy bed with its plush pillows and recessed reading lights. This studio is a gem, as is Steve, the owner, who was generous and on target with his suggestions. We would absolutely stay here again!"

  • Stayed Almost 1 Month for Nearby Surgery - PERFECT CHOICE!

"My husband & I stayed for nearly 1 month (Dec '13) while I recovered from surgery @ nearby Brigham & Women's Hospital. We originally chose the rental for proximity to B&W, it's 1st-floor location, minimum stairs. Some notes I hope you find helpful... *Incredibly clean, and I'm a total nut about cleanliness *HUGE bed *Reliable & fast Wi-Fi *Listing is true to description; in fact, we were surprised & impressed by the apartment size when we arrived *Richard (owner we primarily spoke to) is professional, efficient, incredibly fast w/ response time *Our one minor issue was fixed immediately, conveniently *Owners were happy to talk to us whenever, or leave us totally alone *Great place for "medical tourists," as it's a 5-min-max cab ride to Longwood hospital area, good area for post-surgery walking *Location is awesome for everyone! You're right "in the mix;" walking, cab & "T" access to ANY ATTRACTION *Handy shops w/in 4 blocks: Whole Foods, Economy Hardware, Wine shop, Dry Cleaners, Art Supplies, different banks, CVS, USPS + TONS more *Yummy Food w/in 4 blocks: Pavement Coffeehouse, Ginger Exchange, Ichiban Yakitori, Boston Shawarma + TONS more *Easy walk to Symphony Hall, Prudential, Newbury St, Fenway, Isabella Stewart Gardner, Museum of Fine Arts, many schools/colleges *There's a 24-hr security guard who walks the street, which was very safe in our experience *Parking a car here is costly, complicated *The 'hood is thriving & diverse; populated by students, artists, older folks, musicians, professionals, bums, professors, hospital staff -- everyone! *The street & apts are charming, pretty, very "Boston" -- you'll certainly hear your neighbors, especially students, but we didn't find it to be a problem... If you're looking for a 100% perfectly sound-proof environment, Boston is not for you *We never waited more than 5 min when we called a cab *While the tub/shower unit are older, the rest of the bath is modern & clean, great water pressure *Linens = plentiful, clean, nice *Sink/oven&stove/fridge/dishwasher/washer&dryer unit all seem new, worked well *TV's are new, have big cable packages, but no DVD *Doors/locks are new & sturdy *Lots of windows & light *Hallway & exterior of building are maintained daily, super clean. We stayed almost a month, so we had a ton of time to find problems... but we really didn't! We would rent this unit again & we would highly recommend it to family/friends! Thanks again to Richard for making the whole stay SO EASY! 5 STARS!"

  • Beacon Hill Gem

"My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary with a trip to Boston stayed at The Salon. What a charming apartment, and its Beacon Hill location was a perfect place from which to explore the city. The owners have created a restful and well equipped oasis. We could not have been more pleased with our stay here. Delightful!"
