"I stayed in this very cute apartment for a week. I live in California and was in the area dropping off my daughter at college. The apartment is nicely located and has everything you need. Shelburne falls is a very cute town and I took several day trips into Vermont and upstate New York. I also made a point to walk to town every day. The owner was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this rental. So much better then a hotel. I have a very fond memory of sitting in the chair, all the windows open, listening to the summer rain while reading a good book. So relaxing.... I wish I was there now. Thanks Liz"Guest: Tracy V. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 23, 2014View listing
"We scour the country for pet-friendly lodging, and Cavalier Cottage is truly FRIENDLY. Yes, our three 50-pound dogs were welcome. Yes, she had blankets to cover the bed and couch. Yes, she had a jar of dog cookies. And a nice country road to walk down. The living/bedroom and large kitchen were super clean and inviting. The large kitchen was well equipped. The queen bed was very comfortable. The shower was a bit cozy. And the breakfast scones were OK but the same each of the four days we were there. We got groceries from an excellent organic grocery that Patricia told us about. And we enjoyed walking around Shelburne Falls. There was some very good hiking on the Mohawk Trail Park, which is nearby. We could have found enough to do to stay a week. Cavalier Cottage was the farthest stop on our tour from Texas, and it was a lovely break before we headed home. There aren't many places out there --- anywhere --- that are as welcoming to pets. We really appreciate Patricia's mission to provide a retreat for dogs and their people."Guest: Pat Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 8, 2014View listing
"Stayed here in mid September and had a great time. The area is very nice and quiet. The river behind the house is excellent. The house is rustic and contained all of the little things you need to have an enjoyable stay. I look forward to returning."Guest: Kevin Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 28, 2014View listing
"We needed a house to rent because we were going up to Zoar Outdoor to go rock climbing, white water rafting and zip lining. This house was in a great location (10-15 minutes from Zoar) and very easy to get to from RT 91. It is a very spacious home that was built in the 1700s and gives you that warm, at-home feeling. The owner was fantastic through the whole process. She was very accommodating and enjoyable to talk to. We got to meet her our second night up there and she couldn't have been more sweet. Everybody in that area was so friendly and inviting which made the trip that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this house for all of the aforementioned reasons above as well as the price. It was a fantastic price for the seven people we had staying there. It was much cheaper than a hotel/motel and much more accommodating with a refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, separate bedrooms, places to socialize inside and out, and the fantastic scenery. I can't say enough nice things about this place and the owner."Guest: Rob Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 24, 2014View listing
