  • Week at the Vineyard

"We spent a week on Martha's Vineyard. The house fit our group of 7 people very comfortably. The house has enough room for everyone. The seating areas are great for large groups. The backyard is very private and it's nice to spend time on the deck after a day at the beach. Edgarstown was a very nice town with lots to do. House is close and covenient to the beach and shopping. I would recommend this house for a week on the Vineyard. The owners are very helpful should you have any questions about the area. Lots of places to see and lots of restaurants. Loved the chowda."

  • Perfect

"Let me say first of all what an absolutely beautiful home you have. The design and the layout leave nothing to chance. Roomy enough for 8 (including 3 little monsters). Surrounded by decks off every bedroom and the kitchen- the perfect place for your morning cup of coffee (or the evening cocktail). Everyone had a great time. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home."

  • Fantastic Family Retreat

"We took our first vacation in 3 years, and the first as a family of 4, this past summer. We picked Martha's Vineyard randomly and had very little knowledge of the island. When we first inquired about properties, Molly was the first to respond and immediately began making the trip easy by offering a crib for our son, toys for both kids, beach umbrellas, etc. The house is a beautiful gingerbread home. The inside is decorated beautifully and the wrap around porch is fantastic. Our almost two year old proved to be more of a handful than we anticipated, so we spent a lot of time at the house. We made lots of meals and enjoyed our time sitting on the porch, reading books, playing games, etc. Our kids (5 and almost 2) loved exploring the house and the huge yard. We were a 10 minute bike ride from the center Oak Bluffs and, with another 5 minute ride, we could be to State Beach. We even rode to Edgartown one day, pulling both our kids. The best part of the trip was the concierge-like service provided by Molly. She gave us the best recommendations and must-dos for our week on MV. Everything she told us about was a huge hit with us - she had recommendations specific to the kids, for the family, and for the adults, for a night out. When we shared our trip details with people who had been to MV in the past, they were amazed that we hit the spots we did and impressed with our tour of the island. The entire week was fabulous and we are already anxious to get back to MV. This is a great house and a great resource for anyone who really wants to experience all that the island has to offer."

  • Great House, Great Setting

"This house is filled with light. The BR, LR, kitchen, screened porch and deck all face the ocean. It's up a hard-packed, typical Vineyard dirt road, easy to travel with car or mountain bike. Perfect location, between West Tisbury and Chilmark with easy access to OB and E-town. Small but well-appointed kitchen, good firm bed, excellent outdoor shower, easy access to boats no more than 20 feet from the dock. Dark skies at night make for great constellation sightings."

Chilmark Travel Tips

Experience the Best of Martha's Vineyard with Chilmark Vacation Rentals

Chilmark, Massachusetts is a 34-square-mile town on the western end of the island of Martha's Vineyard steeped in history and culture. The town features buildings that are more than one hundred years old and still in use. The town hall was built in about 1897, and an old church nearby was built in 1843. And children from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade still learn in the one-room schoolhouse that was put up in about 1850. When you stay in Chilmark vacation rentals, you get to experience a little piece of Martha's Vineyard as it was more than a century ago.

Chilmark's Local Fare: There's Something for Everyone

Though the town of Chilmark is small, the agriculture there is strong and varied. If you're interested in eating and buying organically and locally, Chilmark has a wide array of products to offer you. During your stay at one of the Chilmark beach homes, you can drink milk from local cows, eat eggs laid by free-range chickens, nibble on bacon from island-raised pigs, or cozy up in some wool shorn from the town's sheep. Of course, there's always a fresh catch of the day up for grabs at the town's two fish markets. And don't forget dessert! Get in line at Chilmark Chocolates to experience the town's trademark sweet.

The Perfect Small-Town Vacation

When it comes to Martha's Vineyard lodging, Chilmark vacation rentals have it all: access to amazing beaches with spectacular sunsets; delicious, fresh local food; top-notch historical sites; and unique, exciting live theater.
