  • Beautiful, spacious home in great location

"It's a rare occasion that my entire family - which is dispersed across the East Coast - is able to come together, and Denise and Keith's beautiful Edgartown home provided the perfect haven for us while we visited Martha's Vineyard for a wedding. Our stay happened just after the summer season ended, but the house is SO close to the beach (walking distance) and is also close to a number of great restaurants and local gems. The interior of the home itself, particularly the spacious upstairs area, is well-kept and inviting, and the sun shines so brightly upstairs that it gives the whole floor a nice warmth. One of the key elements that made the experience worth 5 stars was liaising with the owners during the rental process. Denise is so wonderfully friendly, helpful, available, communicative and just lovely. Hopefully we will get the chance to return to Martha's Vineyard as a family and stay in this beautiful home again."

  • Choice Vacation Getaway

"After driving down the winding New England path, you come to a group of houses nestled in the middle of a meadow. You can't help but notice the well kept lawn, blooming flowers, and a sparkling swimming pool. When you enter the main house you know you've come home. Rooms are tastefully furnished, yet very comfortable with many conveniences. You can work out, play ping-pong, or just relax in your own hot tub. Bill and Betty Jean live on site, yet they are almost invisible, as are the renters in the nearby "Guest House." But Bill or Betty Jean are always available if there is a problem, or if you need directions, a recommendation, or a short chat. True, the house is not in the middle of town or directly on the beach; it is located mid-Island, convenient to everywhere. Do you want to take a bike ride, go to the beach, or browse in town? Jennie Lane is just a short drive there. This was our fourth trip to Jennie Lane, and we can't think of staying anywhere else. It is one of the most relaxing and reasonable spots on Martha's Vineyard."

  • Awesome House for the week!

"This was our 2nd time on Martha's Vineyard and our 1st with our kids 11 and 14 years old. We usually stay in hotels but figured renting a house for the week would be better, it would give us some much needed quality time and privacy with also had liked being close to all the action. We found that with Jackie's house we got it. The house was a great location close to Edgartown and South Beach. we would Bike all around the local area. The weather was perfect we didn't even need the air conditioners at all. The Outside Shower was another huge bonus. Jackie was also great with giving us recommendations for restaurants and activities. Jackie was also great with quick response to any questions or concerns we had as well. When we come back will definitely want to stay there again."

  • Great family getaway

"We had a great family vacation here. The open floor plan meant everyone can be together inside. Excellent outdoor space as well - great deck and plenty of room for yard games; secluded enough that neighbors cannot be seen or heard. House was in great condition and the beds were comfortable. Highly recommend staying here due to the close proximity to the beach and downtown Edgartown."

Edgartown Travel Tips

Plan Your Martha’s Vineyard Vacation in Edgartown Lodging

When it’s time to relax and get away from the normal tourist crowds during your trip to New England, Edgartown lodging offers unique opportunities to explore the coast of Massachusetts. Known for catering to the rich and famous on their vacations as well, Edgartown was the first settlement in the area of Martha’s Vineyard, and several specimens from the early 19th century have remained for all to appreciate.

Choose Edgartown Lodging for a Unique Look into History

Many of the Edgartown rentals are actually former homes of whaling captains who built the impressive houses in the early 19th century. You’ll be impressed at the quality of the craftsmanship and maintained grounds that make Martha’s Vineyard rentals seem like part of a museum exhibit from the past.

Visit Historical Homes near Edgartown Rentals

Other than the homes used for Edgartown lodging and private residences, there are a few that demand a special visit during your stay. The Vincent House is the oldest home on the island, and currently serves as a museum. Take a walk from your Edgartown rentals to see another collection of historical artifacts at the Thomas Cooke House.

In 1760, Benjamin Smith built a Greek revival home on South Summer Street that attracts visitors from Martha’s Vineyard rentals on a daily basis. It now serves as an office for the local paper, the Vineyard Gazette.

Enjoy the Local Beaches While Staying in Martha’s Vineyard Rentals

If you’re lucky enough to find Edgartown lodging on the beach, you may have access to your own private stretch of sand during your vacation. If not, several public access beaches are available for your use. Even in colder weather, the view from Norton’s Point, also known as South Beach, is a wonderful way to see the sand dunes of the area surrounding Edgartown rentals. Lighthouse Beach is another popular area among visitors to Martha’s Vineyard rentals where they can simply nap in the sun, take a ride along the bike paths, or swim in the ocean in warmer months.
