private, quiet, peaceful cozy cottage
"To start, overall , we loved our stay this year in this cozy, tasteful ly decorated cottage. Peter and Caren are friendly, and respectful of your privacy. Furnishings were just what you needed for a relaxing beach vacation. This was perfect for 2 people. My husband and I have visited MV over the course of 17 years, and this year was one of our best vacations here. I was aware of the lack of air conditioning in the cottage, but was willing to take a gamble and rent, as the breeze on the island is comfortable. To my disappointment, there were 2 days that were hot and humid, and very uncomfortable. Although fans were provided, and I brought one of my own, it was uncomfortable. I have to say, you can't predict what mother nature will do, as far as weather, but I feel that it would be advantageous to provide a small energy efficient window air conditioner. I would rent again and again, if provided. Loved the place !!!"

"This is a wonderful rental that is not missing a single thing. The layout of the house is wonderful for small families with teenagers, it is more than pet friendly, and the kitchen has every amenity plus more! The hot tub is such a wonder added value, that on some days we just stayed home and enjoyed the tub. The Proximitiy to Long Point Beach is about 10 minutes, the Airport is three minutes (near hear a thing from the planes) and Edgartown center 9 minutes. Don and Betsy are incredible friendly and responsive. It's the first rental property that I have stayed in in 20 years, that there was not one problem or issue. Everything was perfect. I hate to recommend it because I want to keep it a secret!"

"This is our fourth time renting this property but the first time we've written a review. The house and guest house of Sandy Feet Retreat are quintessentially Martha's Vineyard - with the added benefit of four-star hotel amenities.
You can easily walk or bike into Edgartown and the fabulous Morning Glory Farm is minutes away. The property is equipped with everything you need to create a memorable island vacation: super efficient air-conditioning!, clear cell phone and WiFi signals, quality bed linens, down pillows, thick fluffy towels, a screened porch to enjoy your morning coffee or evening gin and tonic, a very private, quiet environment, lovely gardens, a well equipped kitchen and a large outdoor shower with plenty of water pressure and hot water.
There is a "Best of the Vineyard" list put together by the owner with all of her favorite places - a list that could only have been put together by someone who knows the island well.
We have stayed at a number of island hotels (the Harborview Hotel and the Charlotte Inn are our favorites), but when we started bringing family and friends with us we needed to find a house. The owner and caretaker of Sandy Feet Retreat are both so accommodating and go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. No need for us to look elsewhere - we will be back again for two weeks next year!"

"To owners Paul and Karen, well done! You have created an oasis in the middle of an oasis. Your guest house was just perfect for the two of us, and could have accommodated more, with plenty of additional bed-space and living space. Loved the hot tub. Loved the surroundings. We ate in almost every night -- probably upset a number of local restaurateurs, but then......
Thanks also for letting us in a bit early, and allowing us to stay a bit late on checkout day. As you know, we discovered a flat tire on our rental car when we went out to load our luggage into the car. That little surprise necessitated a hurry-up tire change to the mini-spare tire, then a rush to Oak Bluffs to an auto repair shop to get the tire fixed, and then a rush back to your guest house to load up just in time to rush back to Vineyard Haven in time to make our ferry reservation! Quite a morning, last Friday. Our trip home was uneventful, except that my suitcase apparently decided not to leave your guest house (just kidding!). It did not arrive with us as we flew home to Boise. But, I have it now, so all is well that ends well.
Thanks so much for your hospitality!
Jan and Jack"
