  • The Best of the Best

"Just returned from a truly perfect weekend in Martha's Vineyard. Six High School Gals who graduated together 45 years ago met at this lovely home to relax and enjoy the island. The home was so much more than we could ever ask for. Beautifully decorated, state of the art kitchen, 4 large bedrooms with very comfortable beds, two living spaces, dinning room, all open up to a large deck. Private with an enormous yard, perfect place for a family, with space for kids to run. The property is just ten minutes from the ferry and within steps to Morning Glory Farm. A very short drive to several beaches, restaurants, clubs, etc. Perfect location. I cannot say enough about the property. We cooked in, ate out, enjoyed picnic's at the beach and just sat for hours on the deck. There were bikes to ride, beach chairs for the taking, boogie boards, etc. Barbara and Jon were gracious hosts (who live "off island") and took care of our every need. We six ladies in our 60's couldn't have had a more perfect weekend. Thank you, thank you!!!"

  • Magical Getaway in Martha's Vineyard

"We rented this property for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. Walking into it for the first time was like entering a photo-spread in House Beautiful. It was exquisitely decorated and had every amenity possible. Its country-french flair was inviting and extremely comfortable to "hang out" in. The large deck off the kitchen, nestled amidst hydrangea bushes bursting with flowers and constant cool breezes, was our favorite place to gather; whether it was with our morning coffee and quickbread, or our afternoon wine and cheese (fresh daily from Morning Glory Farm just a short bike ride away). The location was perfect. We had a car, but usually chose the easy walk into town or to bike to our destination. This was far from a typical rental property as evidenced by the quality of the linens, kitchenware, furnishings, and amenities available. The owner has graciously opened her home to travelers and provided everything possible for a memorable vacation."

  • Owners are Super Nice Down to Earth People

"A great place to relax and unwind. Cottage is located in a good central area to see the island. The owners even had a Keurig and supplied various wonderful coffee flavors. It was a great treat to wake up to every morning and greatly appreciated. The yard has everything you need to kick back with nice privacy. We are thankful to have stayed at this great spot. Highly recommend this to others."

  • Best Week on MV Ever!!!!!

"My husband and I have been vacationing on Martha's Vineyard for twenty nine years. We first visited the island for a romantic getaway and stayed at the beautiful Charlotte Inn. As the summers passed our vacations changed from romantic getaways to family vacations which included adult children and our grandchildren and my brother and sister-in law. We call ourselves "The Lucky Thirteen." My husband and I would rent the same home in Edgartown and invite everyone to come and enjoy a week on our favorite island. For the past ten summers we rented the same home, but this year due to complicated circumstances, we needed to find a new house. We feel so lucky that we were forced to change locations because Kati's beautiful home, Sandy Feet Retreat, (the name of Kati's magnificent home) provided us with everything we needed to make this the best summer we have ever had on The Vineyard. The house and guest house, provided more than enough space for our thirteen member family. The house itself sits on lovely, large and well kept grounds. Before we even walked through the door to explore the interior, we were impressed with the covered porches, the screened in porch and the porch swing which turned out to be a favorite place for both the adults and the children. The interior was tastefully and artfully decorated. We were impressed by the gorgeous wood floors, the well stocked kitchen and dining area with adequate room for the whole family to gather together, the amazing, more than adequate, storage space throughout the entire house, the french doors that led off the living areas to the porches, the wonderful high, high ceilings, the magnificent master bedroom/bathroom suite, the balcony areas, the best outdoor shower ever, and on and on. We had plenty of hot water. The air conditioning was great when we needed it. Everything was perfect! Mark, our caretaker, was responsive and capable and the nicest person ever! Thanks, Mark for making our stay so delightful. On the day we arrived, Kati provided us with a warm welcome by providing goodies from nearby Morning Glory farm and a magnificent bouquet of flowers that brightened each day throughout our visit. We already are looking forward to next year on MV in Kati's magical home."

Edgartown Travel Tips

Plan Your Martha’s Vineyard Vacation in Edgartown Lodging

When it’s time to relax and get away from the normal tourist crowds during your trip to New England, Edgartown lodging offers unique opportunities to explore the coast of Massachusetts. Known for catering to the rich and famous on their vacations as well, Edgartown was the first settlement in the area of Martha’s Vineyard, and several specimens from the early 19th century have remained for all to appreciate.

Choose Edgartown Lodging for a Unique Look into History

Many of the Edgartown rentals are actually former homes of whaling captains who built the impressive houses in the early 19th century. You’ll be impressed at the quality of the craftsmanship and maintained grounds that make Martha’s Vineyard rentals seem like part of a museum exhibit from the past.

Visit Historical Homes near Edgartown Rentals

Other than the homes used for Edgartown lodging and private residences, there are a few that demand a special visit during your stay. The Vincent House is the oldest home on the island, and currently serves as a museum. Take a walk from your Edgartown rentals to see another collection of historical artifacts at the Thomas Cooke House.

In 1760, Benjamin Smith built a Greek revival home on South Summer Street that attracts visitors from Martha’s Vineyard rentals on a daily basis. It now serves as an office for the local paper, the Vineyard Gazette.

Enjoy the Local Beaches While Staying in Martha’s Vineyard Rentals

If you’re lucky enough to find Edgartown lodging on the beach, you may have access to your own private stretch of sand during your vacation. If not, several public access beaches are available for your use. Even in colder weather, the view from Norton’s Point, also known as South Beach, is a wonderful way to see the sand dunes of the area surrounding Edgartown rentals. Lighthouse Beach is another popular area among visitors to Martha’s Vineyard rentals where they can simply nap in the sun, take a ride along the bike paths, or swim in the ocean in warmer months.
