  • Great location for a vacation!

"This was our families first time in Marthas Vineyard and it really was awesome! We only started looking into vacationing in MV sometime in May which is very late in the game. We were lucky to find this property in Edgartown. The owner/renter, Ann Marie was super nice, easy to work with and informative. I felt like I knew her for years. She gave us all kinds of tips so our stay in MV was special. The house fit our needs perfectly and the location in Edgartown couldn't have been any better. The house is set just under 2 miles from the town of Edgartown and beautiful beaches, with a bike bath practically at our doorstep. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and such for making meals. IMy entire family came home feeling destressed!"

  • Awesome House for the week!

"This was our 2nd time on Martha's Vineyard and our 1st with our kids 11 and 14 years old. We usually stay in hotels but figured renting a house for the week would be better, it would give us some much needed quality time and privacy with also had liked being close to all the action. We found that with Jackie's house we got it. The house was a great location close to Edgartown and South Beach. we would Bike all around the local area. The weather was perfect we didn't even need the air conditioners at all. The Outside Shower was another huge bonus. Jackie was also great with giving us recommendations for restaurants and activities. Jackie was also great with quick response to any questions or concerns we had as well. When we come back will definitely want to stay there again."

  • PERFECT house for a family MV trip!

"Where do I begin? I guess I will start from the beginning! We initially reached out to "Dave" in early July, he responded almost immediately. From there, we decided to reserve his home in VH. Upon arrival, we found the house to be spotless and exactly as pictured/described! There were a couple of minor "issues" but Dave was quick to respond & did his absolute best to resolve! The house is very very spacious, 2 FULL Bath's on the First Floor & another Full Bath on the 2nd floor. There is also an outdoor shower but it is not enclosed. Perfect to rinse off when you've just come back from the beach! The kids LOVED having their own space upstairs in the "loft" area outside of the 2 twin bedded bedrooms. Up there is also a TV and DVD player so the kids were content for hours! There is even a small desk which came in handy for my kids who hadn't yet finished their Summer Homework! Whatever you think you might need, this house has! We didn't have room to bring Bikes, Dave was gracious enough to let us borrow theirs which worked out great! The front farmer's porch is AWESOME! Plenty of room for everyone to hang out & enjoy some "island porch time". After all, what's the Vineyard without a porch! There's also a smaller porch off the side of the house which was nice too! We were able to walk to VH in less than 10 minutes but I will say that it would be tough to do it with luggage...it's a short enough trip that if you don't have a car, a cab would be affordable! It's also within walking distance to the Friday Night Lobster Roll Fest at Grace Church...you have to check that out, if you haven't already! All in all, this house is very well priced & located! We typically stay in Oak Bluffs so it was nice to stay elsewhere & become acquainted with this part of the island! Dave is great as is the "handyman" Vinny next door! You won't be disappointed!"

  • Secluded Island Living

"Perfect for someone who appreciates Vineyard living without the crowds in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. The pictures don't do the views justice as the wraparound porch gives you a near 360 degree view of your surroundings. The house is stacked with amenities to make it feel like home. We didn't get a chance to use the grill on the deck but it is the perfect spot for a mid-afternoon cookout. The property was clean and very well-maintained. Deb (the owner) was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. I would (and have) recommended this property to my relatives. Possibly most enjoyable was the private beach a few hundred feet in front of the property, but watching the sun set in Meneshma with Lobster's from Larsen's gives it a run for its money."

Edgartown Travel Tips

Plan Your Martha’s Vineyard Vacation in Edgartown Lodging

When it’s time to relax and get away from the normal tourist crowds during your trip to New England, Edgartown lodging offers unique opportunities to explore the coast of Massachusetts. Known for catering to the rich and famous on their vacations as well, Edgartown was the first settlement in the area of Martha’s Vineyard, and several specimens from the early 19th century have remained for all to appreciate.

Choose Edgartown Lodging for a Unique Look into History

Many of the Edgartown rentals are actually former homes of whaling captains who built the impressive houses in the early 19th century. You’ll be impressed at the quality of the craftsmanship and maintained grounds that make Martha’s Vineyard rentals seem like part of a museum exhibit from the past.

Visit Historical Homes near Edgartown Rentals

Other than the homes used for Edgartown lodging and private residences, there are a few that demand a special visit during your stay. The Vincent House is the oldest home on the island, and currently serves as a museum. Take a walk from your Edgartown rentals to see another collection of historical artifacts at the Thomas Cooke House.

In 1760, Benjamin Smith built a Greek revival home on South Summer Street that attracts visitors from Martha’s Vineyard rentals on a daily basis. It now serves as an office for the local paper, the Vineyard Gazette.

Enjoy the Local Beaches While Staying in Martha’s Vineyard Rentals

If you’re lucky enough to find Edgartown lodging on the beach, you may have access to your own private stretch of sand during your vacation. If not, several public access beaches are available for your use. Even in colder weather, the view from Norton’s Point, also known as South Beach, is a wonderful way to see the sand dunes of the area surrounding Edgartown rentals. Lighthouse Beach is another popular area among visitors to Martha’s Vineyard rentals where they can simply nap in the sun, take a ride along the bike paths, or swim in the ocean in warmer months.
