  • Perfect Spot, Lovely Home!

"I stayed her recently on a family getaway that included toddlers, grandparents, and in between. The location is amazing -- we could walk to shops, playgrounds, the library, the water, and so easily bike or drive to the beach. But the street is still quiet and so peaceful. The house itself is so lovely and well-appointed. The kitchen has everything you could ask for and a great big table, two sitting rooms for quiet time, game playing, etc. And the bedrooms are all comfy and lovely, and set apart enough to provide privacy. I could easily see another family vacation here, but it would also be perfect for groups of friends. Oh, and the fenced in backyard is perfect for bocce, wading pool, or sprinklers! Truly a gem."

  • Perfect

"We stayed with our grown kids and 2 golden retrievers. It was great because the dogs could roam freely and we did not have to worry! The house was roomy and quaint and exceeded expectations along with a well equipped kitchen. The outdoor shower was a big hit for everyone. We really liked the location as it is away from the crowds, but close to just about anywhere on the island. We also enjoyed having the bike path so close. The owners have created a nice sanctuary and are great hosts. We really approeciated their hospitality which helped make our stay memorable. We highly recommend this rental."

Edgartown Travel Tips

Plan Your Martha’s Vineyard Vacation in Edgartown Lodging

When it’s time to relax and get away from the normal tourist crowds during your trip to New England, Edgartown lodging offers unique opportunities to explore the coast of Massachusetts. Known for catering to the rich and famous on their vacations as well, Edgartown was the first settlement in the area of Martha’s Vineyard, and several specimens from the early 19th century have remained for all to appreciate.

Choose Edgartown Lodging for a Unique Look into History

Many of the Edgartown rentals are actually former homes of whaling captains who built the impressive houses in the early 19th century. You’ll be impressed at the quality of the craftsmanship and maintained grounds that make Martha’s Vineyard rentals seem like part of a museum exhibit from the past.

Visit Historical Homes near Edgartown Rentals

Other than the homes used for Edgartown lodging and private residences, there are a few that demand a special visit during your stay. The Vincent House is the oldest home on the island, and currently serves as a museum. Take a walk from your Edgartown rentals to see another collection of historical artifacts at the Thomas Cooke House.

In 1760, Benjamin Smith built a Greek revival home on South Summer Street that attracts visitors from Martha’s Vineyard rentals on a daily basis. It now serves as an office for the local paper, the Vineyard Gazette.

Enjoy the Local Beaches While Staying in Martha’s Vineyard Rentals

If you’re lucky enough to find Edgartown lodging on the beach, you may have access to your own private stretch of sand during your vacation. If not, several public access beaches are available for your use. Even in colder weather, the view from Norton’s Point, also known as South Beach, is a wonderful way to see the sand dunes of the area surrounding Edgartown rentals. Lighthouse Beach is another popular area among visitors to Martha’s Vineyard rentals where they can simply nap in the sun, take a ride along the bike paths, or swim in the ocean in warmer months.
