  • Great house for a family and friends!

"This is a great house in a quiet neighborhood. Located on a small dirt road between Herring Creek Road and Katama Road, this quaint New England Cape home is a perfect getaway for a quiet and relaxing vacation. From the layout to the multiple bathrooms and the many fans, to the closet filled with games, the house had everything we needed. Without a car, you can walk into town within 20 minutes. A bike or car are more necessary to make it to the beach, but it's still very close (about 2 miles). I would absolutely stay here again with both my family and friends. The house is perfect for any age."

  • A Perfect Introduction to the Island

"The house was beautiful and had every amenity, from helpful books and brochures to convenient laundry facilities. The rooms were airy and spacious and the bedrooms and bathrooms afforded maximum privacy, much appreciated by our teenage daughters. The quiet, secluded location gave us the feeling of a luxurious retreat, yet the towns of Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs were just a short drive away. Our first night we took the property's boats out and had a blast. One of our daughters told us afterward that was her favorite part of the trip. We didn't fill the bird feeder but enjoyed the curious catbirds, which kept coming close to perch on the porch rails, as well as ducks, kingfishers, and a great-crested flycatcher! The house was the perfect retreat with gorgeous views of the pond, and a warm and cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed the well-stocked books shelves and greatly admired the paintings by the owner's father. The owner was in touch with us with helpful information before our vaction, and followed up with an email afterward to check in. The caretaker came out and introduced himself the first evening, offering to be a resource for us and to help with anything we might need. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the island."

  • Just love this house!

"My family has stayed here four summers in a row. Between kids, friends, and parents, we never know quite how many people will be with us, but always find the perfect room for everybody of all ages. It's a peaceful, beautiful, and quiet setting, yet we can walk to town in minutes for food, entertainment, and fun. We use the kayak in the pond (and brought a stand up paddle board this year). Being so close to the bike path is a huge plus, and after our busy, busy, days - there's nothing better than relaxing on the porch with a view of the water. Barry and Jamie live on the island, and are available/responsive if we ever need anything (which is very rare). The kitchen has everything we need, linens/towels are abundant, and the outdoor shower is delightful. We have been coming to MV for many years, and this house has been our favorite by far!"
