"Stayed for a week late July at this house in West Tisbury. Very convenient central location to get everywhere on the island. House is very large with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Yard in the rear is very large with plenty of grass, we played croquet one evening, grilled several others, and since it is out admist farms, the rear yard is very private. The owner, George, is very accommodating and his island recommendations made for a very pleasurable stay."

  • Perfect Spot, Lovely Home!

"I stayed her recently on a family getaway that included toddlers, grandparents, and in between. The location is amazing -- we could walk to shops, playgrounds, the library, the water, and so easily bike or drive to the beach. But the street is still quiet and so peaceful. The house itself is so lovely and well-appointed. The kitchen has everything you could ask for and a great big table, two sitting rooms for quiet time, game playing, etc. And the bedrooms are all comfy and lovely, and set apart enough to provide privacy. I could easily see another family vacation here, but it would also be perfect for groups of friends. Oh, and the fenced in backyard is perfect for bocce, wading pool, or sprinklers! Truly a gem."

It is very likely that your Vineyard Haven lodging was built within the last decade, or more than 100 years ago during the whaling days of the island. Your rental could be the cottage or shed of the wealthiest whaler which is interesting to observe. As you enjoy your time in Vineyard Haven, be sure to look at all the different styles of architecture. You will be awed.
