  • Awesome Home

"We spent a week in this lovely home this summer with another family. The house was plenty big, open and airy. It was clean, comfortable and extremely relaxing. We had dinner outside on the beautiful deck and the kids spent hours playing football and baseball in the yard. Most definitely the nicest house we've ever rented on the Vineyard."

  • Vineyard Gem

"Thank you so much Wayne and Ann for letting us call your home our home this past week. We had beautiful weather and we had so much fun discovering all of the wonderful spots around the island. Your home was the perfect launching pad for the day and had all of the amenities that we could have wanted. The location could not have been better, situated a short distance from downtown Vineyard Haven. We are already planning our vacation next year."

  • A Perfect Introduction to the Island

"The house was beautiful and had every amenity, from helpful books and brochures to convenient laundry facilities. The rooms were airy and spacious and the bedrooms and bathrooms afforded maximum privacy, much appreciated by our teenage daughters. The quiet, secluded location gave us the feeling of a luxurious retreat, yet the towns of Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs were just a short drive away. Our first night we took the property's boats out and had a blast. One of our daughters told us afterward that was her favorite part of the trip. We didn't fill the bird feeder but enjoyed the curious catbirds, which kept coming close to perch on the porch rails, as well as ducks, kingfishers, and a great-crested flycatcher! The house was the perfect retreat with gorgeous views of the pond, and a warm and cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed the well-stocked books shelves and greatly admired the paintings by the owner's father. The owner was in touch with us with helpful information before our vaction, and followed up with an email afterward to check in. The caretaker came out and introduced himself the first evening, offering to be a resource for us and to help with anything we might need. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the island."

"Love the house, the porch, the fresh tomatoes in the garden, the clothesline.. everything. Also the location as we could walk to Vineyard Haven downtown for anything we wanted whether groceries, kids beach, coffee shops.... My grand-daughter loved the closet with the built in bed! fit her and her stuffed animal friends very comfortably. And the owners were so EASY to deal with and cared!!!!"

Things to See near Vineyard Haven Lodging

Once you book Martha’s Vineyard rentals, it is time to start planning what you will see while you stay on the island. If you are a wine-lover, do not miss Chicama Vineyards, which is located on Stoney Hill Road. The winery offers tours and tastings all year long. If you have the kids with you during your stay in Vineyard Haven rentals, you will definitely want to stop by the West Chop Lighthouse, which was built in the late 19th century. While tours are not available, it is a sight to see.

Outdoor Activities and Martha’s Vineyard Rentals

No matter which Martha’s Vineyard rentals you end up choosing, you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be plenty of outdoor activities available. You can rent a bike or two and head out from your Vineyard Haven lodging down to the nearest beach and have a picnic. If the water is inviting, feel free to go for a swim! If you love golf, there are a few golf courses in the immediate area, so do not forget to take your clubs along to your Vineyard Haven rentals.

Vineyard Haven Rentals Architecture

Because so many Martha’s Vineyard rentals were built so long ago, there is a diverse collection of architecture and designs to behold during your visit. It is very likely that your Vineyard Haven lodging was built within the last decade, or more than 100 years ago during the whaling days of the island. Your rental could be the cottage or shed of the wealthiest whaler which is interesting to observe. As you enjoy your time in Vineyard Haven, be sure to look at all the different styles of architecture. You will be awed.
