Perfect for our family!
"As so many others have said, this home is open and light-filled, has a great sense of style about it without it being overwhelming and is very clean! We picked it after looking online for days, it seemed, and we couldn't have been more pleased. We are a family of four, with two boys 17 and 13 who were quite comfortable!
My husband and I worked on the island during the summer some 25+ years ago and never knew this fantastic part of the island existed. We knew we did not want to be in Edgartown because of the traffic, but wanted to be near Edgartown because there's nothing like Edgartown. It was such a pleasure for us to get up way before our teenagers and explore the great ponds around this area on kayaks. We looked into a family membership with The Trustees of Reservations before our trip since Long Point was so accessible from the house and I think we spent some time there every day. We loved that you could be in freshwater and rinse off the salt water in a matter of steps. We also made daily trips to Morning Glory Farm and I think it's the prettiest vegetable market one would ever find! They had amazing breads, pates, coffee, etc. and if you haven't been there before, it is certainly worth a stop. Our teenagers know Flatbreads from where we live, so they were also excited to make a few after dinner pizza runs that was only a few minutes from the house.
Still, Max's was the highlight for us to have quality family time. Jon's outdoor shower was fantastic and he has a brand new washer and dryer that were so quiet, you wouldn't even know they were on....not that you could hear them anyway because they were tucked downstairs in an extremely clean basement. The upstairs master suite was my favorite part of the house....we loved it! Beds were all very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. The only "traffic" we heard the whole week was the Monday morning after the 4th of July when private jet after private jet headed south. I wouldn't hesitate to go back at all! Jon was always accessible from my very first inquiry to receiving our deposit back within days of leaving. I can see why he has so many fans! I am now one of them....thank you Jon! It was the kind of week I was hoping our family would have!"

"We were two families with two eight year olds and a baby. The pool and outdoor eating deck were perfect and we spent most of our time there or on the beach. Perfectly quiet here and lots of space. The grocery store is right around the corner so it is easy to get stuff for dinner and not have to plan too far in advance. Our only suggestion is to bring a non stick skillet for cooking - otherwise the kitchen had everything we needed.
There is one queen and 5 twin beds (and twins don't really go together to make a king). we would have preferred another queen but not a huge deal. it is nice to have 3 full bathrooms!

A wonderful house that everyone in our family enjoyed.
"The most wonderful thing about this house is the rural feel, yet its in the middle of Vineyard Haven close to the Library, Main Street restaurants, entertainment and shopping. You couldn't have a better location. The house itself was interesting and clearly a labor of love by the architect. The kitchen was well designed and easy to cook in, there was a charcoal grill in the backyard along with tables and chairs. The house has three floors, the first has an open floor plan with LR, DR and Kitchen, The bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Each floor having a full bath. Our family was very comfortable here and amazed how cool the house was even without AC. The owner/architect told us that he keeps the house cool with the design which allows hot air to rise up and create cool breezes. We never needed to use the fans that were in each bedroom. The Weisman's were wonderful to deal with regarding our rental details. Our family plans to make our annual pilgrimage to the Vineyard to this house."

"Where do I begin? I guess I will start from the beginning! We initially reached out to "Dave" in early July, he responded almost immediately. From there, we decided to reserve his home in VH.
Upon arrival, we found the house to be spotless and exactly as pictured/described!
There were a couple of minor "issues" but Dave was quick to respond & did his absolute best to resolve!
The house is very very spacious, 2 FULL Bath's on the First Floor & another Full Bath on the 2nd floor. There is also an outdoor shower but it is not enclosed. Perfect to rinse off when you've just come back from the beach!
The kids LOVED having their own space upstairs in the "loft" area outside of the 2 twin bedded bedrooms. Up there is also a TV and DVD player so the kids were content for hours! There is even a small desk which came in handy for my kids who hadn't yet finished their Summer Homework!
Whatever you think you might need, this house has! We didn't have room to bring Bikes, Dave was gracious enough to let us borrow theirs which worked out great!
The front farmer's porch is AWESOME! Plenty of room for everyone to hang out & enjoy some "island porch time". After all, what's the Vineyard without a porch! There's also a smaller porch off the side of the house which was nice too!
We were able to walk to VH in less than 10 minutes but I will say that it would be tough to do it with luggage...it's a short enough trip that if you don't have a car, a cab would be affordable! It's also within walking distance to the Friday Night Lobster Roll Fest at Grace Church...you have to check that out, if you haven't already!
All in all, this house is very well priced & located! We typically stay in Oak Bluffs so it was nice to stay elsewhere & become acquainted with this part of the island!
Dave is great as is the "handyman" Vinny next door! You won't be disappointed!"
