  • It is as it appears.

"It was very clean upon our arrival. The house was perfect for a large group with privacy in a separate cottage. The view and backyard is spectacular. Our favorite spot in the world is the private beach."

  • Don't rent this house (please!)

"Truth be told, I was conflicted about writing a review for this house...torn between wanting to sing the property's praises and (selfishly) not wanting the word to spread so much that it would make it more difficult to rent in the future! The best way to describe the house is: it's a home...permanent, lived in, cared for, comfortable. Rather than feeling like a beach rental, it feels as though you are staying at a friend's house who just happens to be away while you're there. It's nicely decorated and well stocked as if the owners spend much of their time there (thankfully for us, they don't) and will be back any minute. From the breezy open plan living room / dining / kitchen, to the sunny deck overlooking Vineyard Sound, to the cozy family room (perfect for binge watching Netfilx on a rainy day), it's a great house in which to spend your time on the Vineyard when you're not out experiencing all that the island has to offer. The four bedrooms on the lower level (including two master bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms) are comfortable and quiet with direct access to the yard and outdoor shower. Like the house, the grounds are lovely and well tended and offer a nice spot to sit and enjoy the sunset. The location in the Lower Makonikey neighborhood of West Tisbury is easily accessible to Vineyard Haven but as you drive down the gravel road to the house, you feel miles away...the best of "up island" living close to town. The quiet north shore beach is an easy 5 minute walk from the house and Lambert's Cove beach (perfect for kids) is minutes away down the road by car. So if you must rent this house, please just don't stay too long and make it harder for us!"

  • Our Oak Bluffs Home!

"We have rented, no lived in this wonderful house for the last few Julys. The owners Wendy and Alex are wonderful and have made us feel like part of the family. I believe we have single handedly increased visitors to the Vineyard after our family and friends have visited us here at this wonderful home. The side yard has been the location for many family performances, birthday parties and soccer matches. Our dog Loo (pictured in the photos) know her way from the front porch to the pond for her daily swims. Because the Palmers actually LIVE in the house during the year, the home has excellent cooking pots, skillets and knives. Anyone who is a cook will truly appreciate this. Sadly the number of family visitors has increased so we must move on to a larger home, however, this house will ALWAYS remain to us our Summer Vineyard Home!"

  • Great home. Great location. Great views

"I have been vacationing on The Vineyard for over 55 years. This home is in a great location: quick ride or walk to both Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven. New kitchen with granite counters is highly functional. The home easily accommodates a large family or mixed group. The kitchen, eating area (with two tables - enough for 10-12), and living/seating area are all one room. Just off that area are the wonderful great room with fire place, two bedrooms, and a bath. Two of three upstairs bedrooms are a nice size, the third is small, but has a twin bed with pull-out trundle. A second frig in basement is great for food and beverage overflow. Then, on top of all that there is the "L" shaped porch and 3-season room. Large yard right off the porch is great for games and lounging. High hedges on three sides give lots of privacy, too. I highly recommend this property even for an off-season getaway."
