  • Wonderful cottage! Wonderful week!

"I rented this cottage for my parents and grandfather to come out to for a nice calm vacation in the off season last week. We have recently been dealing with the passing of my grandmother, so it was a very nice retreat to be able to offer my grandfather for a change of scenery and pace. It was a painless endeavor to book the property to start and from there on it was a great experience for my family. The house was immaculate, and Kathleen gave us a quick once-over as I had to run back to work at the hospital. Set back from the road, but in a great centralized location, my family toodled around town in my car and found it very easy to get to everything. The kitchen was great- had everything a cook could want! It was a cozy, warm, inviting environment. I'm told the beds were very comfortable. The heated floors were a nice touch downstairs and the furnishings were eclectic and homey, I was reminded of quite a few places I have been in VT with the craftsman styling and the over all decor. I would agree- not a place for young kids, especially with the windy stairs, but great for older family. As it is still cold out, they weren't able to use the outdoor shower, but it looked nice! My family found having the washer and dryer available to be very handy. The small garden was starting to bloom, and at night they sat out and grilled dinners, which was another plus. With the new Hummock Pond bike path, it is a nice walk to the brewery and farm. The only thing we couldn't figure out was how to use the speakers in the ceiling...Would love to stay here again!"

  • Heavenly

"This is a wonderful place to stay on the island of Nantucket. Highly recommended. The pictures do not do justice to the comforting beauty of the cottage and grounds. My son (age 7) and I spent a week here and had an amazing time. The cottage is located on a small organic farm with goats, chickens, and ducks plus a very sweet and loving dog, Sophie. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore and places to sit and just be. Great with/for kids! Easy to get to town by bus or bike with a fish market, local brewery, and large organic farm around the corner - all within easy walking/biking distance. The hospitality was also exceptional. We felt very much at home and 'part of the family.' Thank you to Beth and all!"

  • Best Vacation Ever!!

"The week before memorial day I stayed at Windmoor. I planned a vacation before the holdiay because the house was not available Memorial day weekend and my time was flexible. We have never been to Nantucket before. let me just say from the time we pulled into the drive way everything blew us away! The house was exactly as described and the photos on VRBO ( which I thought were nice) do not do the house justice. The house is in pristine contition and lovely! The master bed was very comfortable and you can hear the ocean! My children had the best time, the beach is a 2 min walk from the house. This was so convenient when going to the beach with young kids. The town is a close drive and shopping was great. My husband and I met a nice girl on the beach and she babysat one night, we were able to enjoy an adult very romantic dinner at Toppers at the Wauwinet Hotel this was one of the best meals I have ever had and we live in NY where great food is everywhere. We had a great table outside overlooking great point beach, it was beautiful and we saw the sunset. If you have a chance to go to Nantucket I would definitely try to stay at Windmoor, it was a great family vacation, the house was everything we had hoped for and Nantucket is our new favaorite place!"

  • August 2011 - a GREAT vacation!

"The house was by far the best we have ever rented on the Island, in nearly 10 yrs of getting our group of 10 together. Plenty of bedrooms, so much space, a lovely private deck, and a really great location. Loved the late afternoon bike rides home from Cisco beach and making a pit stop at the brewery! And "Aunt Leah" was an absolute peach to deal with! Would highly recommend if you have a large group, and would love to go back with mine if all works out."
