Excellent ACK Rental
"This house is wonderful, is a perfect location to walk to the beach or ride a bike to Bartlett Farms, the Cisco Brewery, or the fish market. The beach and the bike path are across the street. The house upon arrival is always clean, great decorations, and supplied with very nice linens (many years brand new sheets and towels) beach towels, beach chairs, and nice outdoor grill. The yard is always well cared for, nice plantings and great space to play for the kids. The layout of the house offers great space with 2 living areas, so the kids can have their own hang out space, as the adults enjoy a separate living area. The owners leave a phone number to call if there are ever any problems, and the owners have many connections on the island if something needs to get fixed. We have rented this house, and another house from this owner for over 10 years, they are great to work with, very efficient with rental contract and security deposit process, we love this house and hope to rent it each summer for many more years."

"In advance of our trip, Mary was a wonderful host. Her hospitality, responsiveness and personal touches made our family feel right at home staying as if we were going to stay with a close friend. My only regret was not being able to meet with her in person.
The home was in a private neighborhood in Madaket close to Eel Point and 40th pole beach. Surrounded by well manicured landscaping, sea shell driveway and window boxes, this house has the signature, gently weathered, Nantucket grey cedar exterior. There is a swing on the porch and chairs with plenty of space for golf clubs, fishing rods and coolers. Two double french doors in the rear open up to a north west exposure and a patio complemented with teak furnishings. The hidden gem on the exterior was a 2nd floor deck off of a rear bedroom where we could retreat and watch the best sunset on the east coast. The property borders a private wildlife sanctuary and we were happy to spend time observing the Kestrels on a nearby box that were easily viewed with some binoculars.
The interior was nicely furnished with attention to all the small details. Our first impression was to immediately go into "relax mode" because we didn't need to rush around to grab the normal odds and ends that are normally required during our stay (cooking, cleaning, charcoal for the grill, etc). We could get a sense that our host really took the time and effort to make sure their guests could just focus on enjoying their time in Nantucket. Good electronics, sound system and high speed wifi.
The location was terrific. There are only a couple "drive on" beaches left in Nantucket and 40th pole is one of them. We picked up a beach permit from the police station and could drive from the house to 40th pole in 5-10 min. Even without a permit, it is about a 10-15 min walk through the sanctuary to get to the beach which is north facing so the waves are typically smaller (and kid friendly) with plenty of shells and activities for all ages. I was able to enjoy some saltwater fly fishing each morning where I could easily wade from 40th pole all the way to Eel point almost always by myself!
No need for beach chairs, bags, towels, etc. All included.
We truly had a wonderful time in this home and will be looking forward to staying here again in the future. Thank you for making our time in Nantucket extra special."

"The house on Orange Street was a perfect match for our family. Everything that we envisioned was true to its description and photos. The location was a short walk to town which was an asset. The backyard was wonderful to relax in day or night. We did need the caretaker once for a beeping smoke detector. He came over right away and replaced the batteries. He was very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend the home to others."

"Going to Nantucket is an adventure in itself which sometimes involves planes, trains, automobiles and boats. It is a perfect place to commune with nature, to see breathtaking views complete with starry skies, and to relax. And in the heart of this lovely place - the historic heart at that - you will find Barntucket. A 200 year young house that invites imagination and stories.
We went to Barntucket for a women's birthday celebration/retreat and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Bill is a completely wonderful host who was willing to help us with suggestions of where to dine and how to enjoy the island. The house has all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable including lots of fluffy white towels and a fully equipped kitchen. From Barntucket's central location you can bike and walk to beaches, shops and restaurants.
I can't say enough about it and can't wait to go back with my family or to renew our women's retreat annually."
