  • Great house!

"I rented the house with friends for a September wedding weekend. Five couples stayed in the house, and everyone loved it. The location is convenient - walkable to town, a short cab rides to the ferries and airport. The house itself exceeded our expectations, and none of us wanted to leave!"

  • Short stay, but a great Nantucket Experience!

"My family and I rented Barntucket for a wedding weekend, we were about 6 people altogether. We could not have been happier with our decision. Everything was in pristine order and the proprietor has clearly put in a lot of effort to keep this property looking great with all the modern amenities, while maintaining all of the details and quality of a 200 year old home. With a working fireplace, excellent kitchen, beautifully maintained grounds, and comfortable bedrooms, this space is so warm and inviting. The pictures honestly do not do justice to the quintessential Nantucket experience we had while staying here. Just the thing we were looking for! This would be such a great place for a family reunion or family holiday gathering. We will definitely look to rent this place again!"

  • perfect small family getaway

"This cottage was perfect for our family of four. Our two boys 11 and 8 had plenty of space to play and we could relax in the front room. Its central location provides access to everything from coffee to beaches. The cottage is the perfect mix style and convenience."

  • Stunning home!

"This home is beautifully decorated and impeccably maintained. It is the perfect setting for a large family or group. The common areas comfortable accomodate a group and the house also provides ample private spaces to relax in. The proximity to town makes it easy for all to come and go as they please."

Nantucket Town Travel Tips

Need Nantucket Rentals for Your Next Trip?

Located just about 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod is Nantucket Island. The quiet harbors, sandy beaches, old mansions and gardens, dramatic cliffs, and the interesting history give Nantucket rentals an extra edge over other Cape Cod accommodations. Though the island itself is small, people come in droves to Nantucket beach homes year after year. It is best seen during the summer, but Nantucket lodging is available throughout the year.

Getting into Nantucket Rentals

Because it is an island, the only way to access your Nantucket lodging from the mainland is either by air or sea. The name of the town literally means “faraway island” and that is the way locals and tourists alike prefer it. During the summer, there are plenty of ferries and small airlines that you can choose from. In the winter, while there are still such services, their timetables are reduced. Once you get to Nantucket beach homes, you may not want to return anyway!

Seeing the Island from Nantucket Beach Homes

The island is so small that you do not always need a car to get from Nantucket rentals during the summer. A great way to see the island is by using the various two-way paved bike paths which are along each major road on the island. If you do not already have a bicycle at your Nantucket lodging, do not worry! There are plenty of bike rental shops in town that can help your whole family. With a bicycle, you will have no trouble spending the day at the lovely beaches all over the island as well.

History’s Influence on Nantucket Lodging

You cannot book Nantucket beach homes without getting a glimpse into the island’s past as the whaling capital of the world. In fact, many Nantucket rentals are homes which were built back in the 1800s. Some of the red brick homes were owned by the wealthiest of whalers back during that time. Some historic sites to see while staying at Nantucket lodging include the Brant Point Light, Sankaty Head, the Oldest House, and the Old Windmill to name a few.
