"This cottage and it's location made our trip to Nantucket a memorable one. Between a five minute walk to the beach and a short bike ride (or bus ride) into town, I couldn't imagine staying at a more accessible location. The cottage is quaint and comfortable, boasting an incredible view off the back porch. Millies, a very good take-out and sit down restaurant & market, is only an arm's length away, making our lunch and dinners a breeze. Owner was friendly, helpful and accommodating."

"We have been renting in 'Sconset for years and I always loved Broadway and Center Street just north of the historic town pump. Ivy Lodge (as we learned on our tour) is one of the original 44 cottages of 'Sconset dating back to 1745. We also learned the old mulberry tree in the back yard is one of 3 remaining on Nantucket from 1740 when islanders made a failed attempt at growing silk worms. So much history and beauty within 50 yards of this home, I couldn't get enough.
This is not a gut rehabbed home that has been stripped of its fine character. You feel like you are walking right into a page of history. This home is situated smack dab in the middle of where most of the 'Sconset post cards are photographed and the well known artist/painter William "Bill" Welch does many of his beautiful water colors. It was a true Nantucket experience that we would highly recommend.
As for the house itself: The pictures are true to form. It is very comfortable, plenty of natural light. The front porch makes a nice setting for dinners or drinks after a day of exploring. The beds are very comfortable and it appears the mattresses are high quality and new. I particularly liked the second floor of North as it reminded me of sleeping in a whaling ship with all the beaded pine and angled ceilings. You can even hear the ocean from your bedroom, the air is so still and quiet at night. The heavy salt air had me sleeping like a baby."

"House was great - close to beach (short walk), secluded, and recently remodeled. A car is recommended - grocery store, town, and activities are driving distance or at least a bike ride away. Washer dryer in house, grills on property, etc. kitchen is brand new, full fridge and dishes provided. Recommend bringing your own beach chairs as ones on property are tucked in the woods. Beach towels are in house. Owner was easy to work with and very responsive."
