  • Many Castles Nantucket, MA

"Excellent vacation at Many Castles Nantucket, MA. Listing description was accurate and the listing photos were accurate. The house is very comfortable. Top of the line electronics (diverse and large DVD library) and household amenities, including new stove; perfect for cooking lobsters! Hmm. Lots of board games for the kids. Ocean views from living area and spacious ocean facing deck as described. Beds were very comfortable and all linens, towels, and comforters top of the line; like staying at a hotel. Location was quiet and quiet not crowded beach nearby as described by owner. All other beaches easy driving distances. Excellent paved and dirt biking paths which traverse the island. We rented bikes from Island Bikes. Island Bikes was excellent and their bikes were top notch. They also deliver and pick up for free. Others charge $10. We rode bikes more than drove car. A compact car will meet your needs; unless you expect to go offroad --which you will have to do to reach distant fishing and beach spots. Then you will need a four wheel drive. The town of Nantucket has many fine restaurants, taverns, and candy stores. More gummy bears, if you please. There are many historical sites in and around town. The Whaling museum is a must stop. There is great fishing from the beach and a myriad of private boats. Several tackle stores nearby to rent gear; boats supply everything. We caught 30 fish and cooked many of them on the excellent new gas grill on the deck. The house is very clean and very well maintained. Outdoor shower (enclosed except for roof) is fantastic. I showered only once inside. Night stars are incredible. Very little ambient light. Owner very helpful, friendly and responsive. I would recommend this property to family and friends. In fact I already have."

  • great house, great landscaping, great location!

"New house in terrific location in sconset, only a few minutes walk to the heart of the village and beach. Interior was carefully designed for living with style but practicality. Property is very well-maintained with all the beach house necessities: good grill, teak outdoor dining set (+ rocking chairs), beach chairs & umbrellas, abundant library of reads, and a great outdoor shower. Charming decor with distinctive Nantucket style combined with all the modern necessities including reliable wireless and solid AC. Very well-equipped for a family vacation (and relaxing in a deep soaking tub) and gorgeous landscaping. Owner is excellent at managing property from afar and very pleasant to work with."

  • Old school charm with plenty of comforts

"When you walk into this charming cottage you immediately can tell that this is a much loved family vacation home with a long history from the old black and white photos and the collection of classic books on the shelves. No cheesy tchotchkes, or goofy fake nautical antiques adorning the walls. The house and location are perfect for so many reasons: the kids can walk back and forth to the beach without the hassle of having to pack everything for the day; the kitchen is well equipped; the yard perfect for playing and BBQs; furniture is comfortable and not precious - you can put your feet up without stressing about a bit of sand on them; the essential outdoor shower is what it is and unless you have peeping toms in your family, there's no lack of privacy; the beds are firm. We had a lot of rain during our visit but the kids loved playing games inside while the adults kicked back on the comfy sofas reading and napping. What more does anyone want on a vacation? I think it'd make a great film set location with so much nostalgic charm. It's exactly what we imagined Nantucket to be like."

  • Nantucket Perfection

"Our large family enjoyed an idyllic week at this beautiful house. The house is perfectly appointed with lovely large and comfortable bedrooms, several welcoming seating areas and an expansive deck overlooking the large grassy yard. The kitchen and dining room are outfitted with every possible convenience for cooking and entertaining. The house is situated on a very private piece of property near the unspoiled Madaquecham beach. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is a must. Suzanne was a delight. She helped me arrange everything - from figuring out where everyone would sleep to bringing in her housekeepers for a mid-week cleaning. We all hope to return to this amazing retreat."
