  • Like coming home!

"We have stayed in this home for several summers, and each time it feels like coming home. This is a comfortable house with all the amenities you could want. It's an authentic Nantucket cottage that's been expanded to accommodate modern living. We love the location - there is a great private yard, and we have enjoyed sitting under the stars at night hearing the ocean. We walk to the restaurants and market in 'Sconset, and the house is close to the bus if you don't want to bring a car. My favorite part of the house is the garden. We love picking vegetables that we'll be cooking that night! My only hesitation with writing this review is that people will find out about this hidden gem!! We'll be back."

  • Five Star Ocean Front Cottage

"The Sandymount Cottage is located in Cod Fish Park in the town of Siasconset on Nantucket Island. Siasconset is a small quiet community on the east side of the island about 7 miles from the harbor. If you are looking for a slower pace and tranquility this is the spot! Sandymount has a full and awesome view of the ocean. Open the windows and listen to waves crashing on the beach and feel the cool sea breezes. Both the beach and the town center are within easy walking distance. On a clear morning watch the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean from the comfort of the front porch, which has a table that seats six for any meal you choose. The grounds around the cottage are beautiful and well maintained. Large hydrangea bushes line the front of the house while roses and privets encircle much of the property. The interior layout of the house is efficient and functional. All the amenities are modern, in working order, and kept very clean. Comfortable beds, cable TV, wireless internet connection, washer/dryer, electric fireplace, BBQ grill, beach chairs, outside shower, and much more. The owners reside in a separate house on the property and are very gracious hosts. My wife and I have stayed in VRBO properties all around America and Sandymount Cottage on Nantucket is our absolute favorite."

  • Relaxing

"Had a great stay here. Sconset is a beautiful and quiet escape from nantuckettown. House was very spacious, big bathrooms and close to the bus, the general store and all 3 of sconset restaurants. Love it. Two balconies and well furnished."

  • 'Sconset charmer

"This was our third year at Ivy Lodge, and our 12th summer on Nantucket. We initially found the cottage through one of the realtors on Nantucket. When we saw the home on HomeAway, we decided to deal directly with the owners for the first time this year. Loraine was very nice and accomodating. The home is perfectly situated one block from the village square, Casino tennis, and the beach. We feel comfortable letting the kids go down to the movies, go out for ice cream, or get a head start to the beach. The home itself is a true 'Sconset cottage, the pictures represented on this site are very accurate. It is well cleaned and maintained. It is not a new or updated cottage, it has rustic charms, but it is in good repair. My wife and I travel with our nanny and 3 children and often have another couple or our inlaws join us for part of our trip. The duplex feature of this home allows for us to have plenty of space and not constantly be on top of each other. This house is a great value when considering its size, true sleeping capacity, and location. The front porch is wonderful for dinner parties or enjoying a quiet cocktail at the end of the day. Ivy Lodge provides the authentic 'Sconset getaway and "post card charm." --The Harrison Family--"
