  • Great get-away in Surfside

"This home has such a happy vibe, is very roomy but cozy at the same time. The owners have thought of everything--lots of amenities. We love the location. It's very private, but close to town. The bike path is steps away. Surfside, the best beach on the island, is at the end of the road."

  • Perfect In Every Way!

"We had the pleasure of returning to this beautiful home in mid-June for a second time. As a family of four, with twins in college, once again it looked like the shoulder season fit our summer schedules best. When we brought up summer vacation last winter, returning to Nantucket and this gorgeous, comfortable, well located home was the unanimous first choice. My husband and I have been vacationing in Nantucket on and off for 26 years. Until we discovered this house, we always stayed in town, but we are now total “converts” to the mid-island stay. With grown kids away at school, it's all about being together, and this lovely home lent itself to that so well. From there, we biked to four different beaches. Bikes are included, even one with a wagon to cart groceries, or beach supplies, which are also included. We biked to Bartlett Farms to buy fresh produce, Cisco Brewery to hear a band, and into town for dining and souvenir shopping. This year we rented a car for a few days and caught a perfect Madaket sunset. My daughter and I love to cook, which is such a pleasure in Nancy’s well appointed kitchen. The house is immaculate and spectacular in every way, with a great selection of books, music, games, and a dock to play your own music. Seems like Nancy thought of everything, right down to the most comfortable bed linens to lull you into a good sleep. Upon leaving, my husband and I gave a look, knowing we shared the same thoughts, hoping for at least one more return trip here with our kids to make more Nantucket memories."

  • Terrific private home in Surfside, fantastic yard!

"This was our first visit to Nantucket and we really enjoyed our stay. This house in Surfside was exactly as pictured - well maintained, in great condition with a well equipped kitchen. A fantastic plus to this property is a very beautiful and private yard - great for yard games (which the owner provided) after a day at the beach. The owner was an incredibly gracious host and responded promptly to all our questions plus provided us with great advice on things to do, restaurants and other island tips. Although it is not located right on the beach, the property has a great central location and beaches are easily accessible by bike or car. We loved our visit to Nantucket and this property and hope to return. Our only kind of negative experience on this trip had nothing to do with this property. We would not recommend Albacore Fishing Charter - although we caught plenty of fish and enjoyed being out on the water, the captain barely spoke to us and seemed disinterested and borderline unfriendly like we were kind of a bother. For the price we paid for the charter and given that there are many other charters on Nantucket to choose from, that seemed unacceptable."

  • Old school charm with plenty of comforts

"When you walk into this charming cottage you immediately can tell that this is a much loved family vacation home with a long history from the old black and white photos and the collection of classic books on the shelves. No cheesy tchotchkes, or goofy fake nautical antiques adorning the walls. The house and location are perfect for so many reasons: the kids can walk back and forth to the beach without the hassle of having to pack everything for the day; the kitchen is well equipped; the yard perfect for playing and BBQs; furniture is comfortable and not precious - you can put your feet up without stressing about a bit of sand on them; the essential outdoor shower is what it is and unless you have peeping toms in your family, there's no lack of privacy; the beds are firm. We had a lot of rain during our visit but the kids loved playing games inside while the adults kicked back on the comfy sofas reading and napping. What more does anyone want on a vacation? I think it'd make a great film set location with so much nostalgic charm. It's exactly what we imagined Nantucket to be like."
