Terrific private home in Surfside, fantastic yard!
"This was our first visit to Nantucket and we really enjoyed our stay. This house in Surfside was exactly as pictured - well maintained, in great condition with a well equipped kitchen. A fantastic plus to this property is a very beautiful and private yard - great for yard games (which the owner provided) after a day at the beach. The owner was an incredibly gracious host and responded promptly to all our questions plus provided us with great advice on things to do, restaurants and other island tips. Although it is not located right on the beach, the property has a great central location and beaches are easily accessible by bike or car. We loved our visit to Nantucket and this property and hope to return.
Our only kind of negative experience on this trip had nothing to do with this property. We would not recommend Albacore Fishing Charter - although we caught plenty of fish and enjoyed being out on the water, the captain barely spoke to us and seemed disinterested and borderline unfriendly like we were kind of a bother. For the price we paid for the charter and given that there are many other charters on Nantucket to choose from, that seemed unacceptable."

"When you walk into this charming cottage you immediately can tell that this is a much loved family vacation home with a long history from the old black and white photos and the collection of classic books on the shelves. No cheesy tchotchkes, or goofy fake nautical antiques adorning the walls. The house and location are perfect for so many reasons: the kids can walk back and forth to the beach without the hassle of having to pack everything for the day; the kitchen is well equipped; the yard perfect for playing and BBQs; furniture is comfortable and not precious - you can put your feet up without stressing about a bit of sand on them; the essential outdoor shower is what it is and unless you have peeping toms in your family, there's no lack of privacy; the beds are firm. We had a lot of rain during our visit but the kids loved playing games inside while the adults kicked back on the comfy sofas reading and napping. What more does anyone want on a vacation? I think it'd make a great film set location with so much nostalgic charm. It's exactly what we imagined Nantucket to be like."

"The house was very large with a huge kitchen area. That is where everyone always ends up socializing while dinner is being prepared. The house was within walking distance from a great beach. The back yard was huge for the kids to play catch and run races. You need a vehicle to get around the island but the location was very central. The house is well decorated and very clean. All the beds and furniture seem new. Overall there is a very comfortable, clean, island feel to the property."

"This home has such a happy vibe, is very roomy but cozy at the same time. The owners have thought of everything--lots of amenities.
We love the location. It's very private, but close to town. The bike path is steps away. Surfside, the best beach on the island, is at the end of the road."
