"What a great vacation cottage! I've been coming to Nantucket for many years and it's hard for me to imaging a better location on the island. The location on Madequecham Valley Road is very private with plenty of buffer between adjacent properties. The south-facing 2nd floor deck provides incredible views of the ocean including daily sunrises to the left and sunsets to the right. The online photos can't possible do the views justice! The property was clean and well-prepared for our visit. The owners care deeply about the renter's experience as evidenced by their thorough preparation and terrific communcation and accessibility leading up to, during, and after the rental. They were very helpful with any questions we had leading up to the rental period. The property sits about 100 ft back from a private beach access. The beach itself was beautiful and rarely did we see anyone else on the beach during our stay. The town of Nantucket is about a 15 minute car ride away, so access to shops and restauraunts is very good. We loved the property so much that we've already requested a rental again next year! We would highly recommend this location to anyone interested in a unique Nantucket island getaway with spectacular ocean views and beach access!"Guest: Jim Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 30, 2014View listing
"We had the pleasure of returning to this beautiful home in mid-June for a second time. As a family of four, with twins in college, once again it looked like the shoulder season fit our summer schedules best. When we brought up summer vacation last winter, returning to Nantucket and this gorgeous, comfortable, well located home was the unanimous first choice. My husband and I have been vacationing in Nantucket on and off for 26 years. Until we discovered this house, we always stayed in town, but we are now total “converts” to the mid-island stay. With grown kids away at school, it's all about being together, and this lovely home lent itself to that so well. From there, we biked to four different beaches. Bikes are included, even one with a wagon to cart groceries, or beach supplies, which are also included. We biked to Bartlett Farms to buy fresh produce, Cisco Brewery to hear a band, and into town for dining and souvenir shopping. This year we rented a car for a few days and caught a perfect Madaket sunset. My daughter and I love to cook, which is such a pleasure in Nancy’s well appointed kitchen. The house is immaculate and spectacular in every way, with a great selection of books, music, games, and a dock to play your own music. Seems like Nancy thought of everything, right down to the most comfortable bed linens to lull you into a good sleep. Upon leaving, my husband and I gave a look, knowing we shared the same thoughts, hoping for at least one more return trip here with our kids to make more Nantucket memories."Guest: Therese & Richard D. "This home is beautifully decorated and impeccably maintained. It is the perfect setting for a large family or group. The common areas comfortable accomodate a group and the house also provides ample private spaces to relax in. The proximity to town makes it easy for all to come and go as they please."Guest: Maria Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 17, 2014View listing
"Thank you for renting your house to us. We enjoyed staying in the cottage that was is a great spot - close to the beach and a short bike ride to town. We loved how we did not need a car! We thank you for letting us have use of the bikes in the garage too. We appreciate your kindness and willingness to share a place with so much history to it and one that has been in your family for so long."Guest: Sue M.
