  • Old school charm with plenty of comforts

"When you walk into this charming cottage you immediately can tell that this is a much loved family vacation home with a long history from the old black and white photos and the collection of classic books on the shelves. No cheesy tchotchkes, or goofy fake nautical antiques adorning the walls. The house and location are perfect for so many reasons: the kids can walk back and forth to the beach without the hassle of having to pack everything for the day; the kitchen is well equipped; the yard perfect for playing and BBQs; furniture is comfortable and not precious - you can put your feet up without stressing about a bit of sand on them; the essential outdoor shower is what it is and unless you have peeping toms in your family, there's no lack of privacy; the beds are firm. We had a lot of rain during our visit but the kids loved playing games inside while the adults kicked back on the comfy sofas reading and napping. What more does anyone want on a vacation? I think it'd make a great film set location with so much nostalgic charm. It's exactly what we imagined Nantucket to be like."

  • August Vacationers

"We have multigenerational family reunions each year on Nantucket and prefer properties with a main house and a separate apartment or guesthouse. Because of the ages of our family, we also prefer houses with king or queen sized bedrooms, and these can be hard to find. This property exactly met our needs. There are five comfortably sized and comfortable bedrooms (one king and four queen beds) in the main house, as well as a sixth bedroom with a daybed for overflow visitors. The apartment over the garage is spacious, with another queen sized beds and full furnishings and amenities, including kitchen and washer dryer. The outdoor spaces, including an enormous deck with outdoor shower, are great. The property is surrounded and secluded by lovely gardens and a variety of shaded or sunny seating areas. We loved the easy access to Tom Nevers beach, Sconset, and the bike paths. The house and gardens are beautifully maintained and the owners were completely responsive to any questions that arose during our stay. All in all, this was our best rental ever."

  • Charmer in 'Sconset.

"This is a lovely home. Well cared for. Well designed. Great flow. Nice mix of light and airy rooms, but also cool and comfy rooms to retreat to when you feel bleached out by the sun. Immaculately clean. Appliances clean and fully functional. Lovely kitchen a pleasure to use. Owner has excellent taste and has furnished the home as though for personal use; quality linens, glassware, appliances, and so on. Two bedrooms downstairs at some distance from upstairs master suite give parents with teens a little breathing space (unlike most rentals where a traditional format would have everyone in the same sleeping area.) Location is ideal: near beach, but tucked away for supreme privacy and peace in an otherwise dense area. We spent days biking, hiking, beaching, but happily landed back at Clovelly for the comforts of home. Easy walk to delightful restaurants, and the bustle of Nantucket is only 20 minutes away if you need more variety. We are already dreaming about coming back."

  • perfect small family getaway

"This cottage was perfect for our family of four. Our two boys 11 and 8 had plenty of space to play and we could relax in the front room. Its central location provides access to everything from coffee to beaches. The cottage is the perfect mix style and convenience."
