Comfortable, well-located & versatile beach house
"Our family stayed at the Beachcomber Cottage for 2 weeks in August, three seasons in a row, which should tell you something. A very comfortable, well stocked house with a versatile floor plan that allows for simultaneous, separate indoor activities in the evening or when weather doesn't cooperate. Long Beach a couple of houses away, and Good Harbor Beach a 5 minute bike ride or less than 15 if you're walking. A popular ice cream place up the street, and groceries, liquor and fresh fish all within minutes. We spent most evenings grilling on the generous deck, overlooking a very large, landscaped, private yard. Plentiful parking and a garage for storing bikes. We recommend the house without reservation."

"Our group of four totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The home was spotless! It was located just three blocks from Good Harbor Beach, two blocks from Long Beach, and within walking distance to Pebble Beach. How great is that? The owner of this home provided books, games, coolers, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. Her attention to detail was outstanding. We loved the affordable tickets and easy access to the train station - went into Boston twice. The ice cream cones - two blocks' walk away - were to die for yummy!!! We drove up to Portland, Maine for some shopping and site seeing and came back with two live "lobstas" for supper. Again, the home's kitchen had a big lobster pot and some adorable dishes to eat our fresh seafood on. Everywhere we went on Cape Ann was BEAUTIFUL! The Fisherman's Memorial, the harbor walk, the Crow's Nest, the lighthouses, and a whale watch were other fun activities. So much to do and so little time. Gloucester is a "must see" place and we will certainly visit again."

"Dudley's review sums it up pretty well. Lovely accommodations, equally impressive for their clever design as for their bohemian ambience. One might put a smaller plant in the bathroom, to allow greater range of motion while showering in the clawfoot bathtub, but placing the clothes washer and dryer in the kitchen to double as countertop space is brilliant. Richard is a warm and thoughtful host, and East Gloucester a pleasant New England fishing town in which to get away from it all without being TOO far away from it all (be sure, though, to bring a little hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol--the tenant parking spot is directly beneath a beautiful but sap-filled pine tree). My wife and I would happily stay there again."
