  • Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

"Our group of four totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The home was spotless! It was located just three blocks from Good Harbor Beach, two blocks from Long Beach, and within walking distance to Pebble Beach. How great is that? The owner of this home provided books, games, coolers, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. Her attention to detail was outstanding. We loved the affordable tickets and easy access to the train station - went into Boston twice. The ice cream cones - two blocks' walk away - were to die for yummy!!! We drove up to Portland, Maine for some shopping and site seeing and came back with two live "lobstas" for supper. Again, the home's kitchen had a big lobster pot and some adorable dishes to eat our fresh seafood on. Everywhere we went on Cape Ann was BEAUTIFUL! The Fisherman's Memorial, the harbor walk, the Crow's Nest, the lighthouses, and a whale watch were other fun activities. So much to do and so little time. Gloucester is a "must see" place and we will certainly visit again."

  • Gloucester Retreat

"Our stay at the Gloucester Quilter apartment was wonderful! Our hosts were so welcoming and the apartment was beautiful and spacious and very clean! The view of Gloucester and the harbor are amazing and helped create a truly relaxing stay. There are boxes filled with brochures for activities to explore the area, dining and shopping options but with a full kitchen eating in is great, too. Beautiful outside seating overlooking the water adds to the gorgeous setting. We'd love to return someday."

  • Sunny, spacious and well-equipped

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was more than helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family from Maryland, NYC and the Boston area united at the Seaside House for a week in August, including two small children. We have stayed at numerous properties near Good Harbor Beach over several decades, and found Seaside House to be a spacious and well-equipped property just a short walk from the beach, with the added benefit of the lovely Bass Rocks views and walks. Terrific weather and a full moon over the water added to our enjoyment. The owners are on the property and offered any assistance we might need, but all went smoothly. We would suggest the addition of room darkening shades in all windows, especially on the front of the house. It's a great house for kids with all the diversions of the beach, a nice porch, and super play and game room. The busy street traffic right in front of the house was the only downside for us, and did not seriously detract from the restful experience."

  • Lovely little home away from home.

"The photos do it absolute justice. We loved our week long stay in this little piece of heaven. The attention to detail involved in the cottage is impressive. The front porch area is a great place to spend the early morning watching the fish in the little pond. The plum cove beach area is about a 5 minute walk down the street. The little parking garage is a bit tricky to get in to, and be sure there is purple trash bags on your stay. The city wont pick up trash unless you use the city sanctioned bags. We had to go buy our own but the local convenience store has them. The shower was amazing and the whole house integrated sound system was a nice feature also. The wifi was a bit spotty it seemed to come and go. On our visit we checked out the lighthouse area around the breakers, went on the 7 sea's whale watch, ate plenty of clams, cooked our own lobsters (there is a big boiling pot included), drove around the entire cape, checked out Salem, visited Cape Pond Ice, saw the Hammond Castle and went to the Ryan & Wood distillery. There is so much to see and do in the area, that a week is not enough time to see all the sites. I would highly recommend a stay at this little cottage its perfect for a couple visiting the area."

Gloucester Travel Tips

Gloucester Vacation Rentals Offer Fun, Excitement and a Bit of History

For many of us, taking a vacation means going to a place with gorgeous beaches, great food, good entertainment, and a myriad of sights and activities. Gloucester vacation rentals have all of that, and then some. Gloucester is a town that is both loaded with vacation activities and steeped in unique history. It's the oldest seaport in the United States, and it's also home to America's oldest arts colony. And it's definitely no wonder why—located on Cape Ann, Gloucester is surrounded by the sea and all the bounty and inspiration it holds.

Find Inspiration in Gloucester's Beauty

Gloucester's spectacular landscapes and views have fueled the creative fires of all kinds of artists, from writers (T.S. Eliot, Herman Melville, Rudyard Kipling, and John Updike) to painters (Winslow Homer, Maxfield Parrish, and Edward Hopper) to playwrights and poets (Israel Horowitz, Charles Olson, and Vincent Ferrini). There are numerous festivals, sights, and block parties to get your creative juices flowing all year round, but if you're more interested in action, there's plenty in Gloucester for you as well. Gloucester beach homes are the perfect places from which to go kayaking, swimming, hiking, or sailing. The town is also home to dozens of points of interest, from historical to architectural to cultural. Gloucester has something for everyone to appreciate.

Immerse Yourself in all That Is Gloucester

If you're looking for North Boston lodging near the beach that has an endless array of sights and activities ripe for appreciation, Gloucester vacation rentals are the perfect accommodations for you. You can live like a local while you experience everything the town has to offer, from sports to dining to shopping and entertainment. And when you're done for the day, you can come back to your very own cozy abode and feel truly at home.
