  • Recommended for seriously unwinding!

"My husband and I stayed here for a week in August, and couldn't have enjoyed it more. It was clean, decorated in a playful way, and quiet. We slept in every day later than usual because the cottage is on a cul de sac, and there's no traffic, the quiet was lovely. Bicycles are provided, but we brought our own and found that was a great way to get around. There's a great restaurant within walking/biking distance, the Plum Island Grille, we went to Bob's Lobsters for fresh oysters, and to Mad Martha's for breakfast. It's possible to bike into Newburyport for lunch or shopping as well. The roof deck is a great place to watch the sky at dusk and see the stars come out. The owners are wonderful "virtual" hosts, and provide plenty of information and options for your stay. We particularly loved biking to Sandy Point beach for the day. A charming cottage in every way, and was definitely, for us, a romantic getaway."

  • Comfortable, well-located & versatile beach house

"Our family stayed at the Beachcomber Cottage for 2 weeks in August, three seasons in a row, which should tell you something. A very comfortable, well stocked house with a versatile floor plan that allows for simultaneous, separate indoor activities in the evening or when weather doesn't cooperate. Long Beach a couple of houses away, and Good Harbor Beach a 5 minute bike ride or less than 15 if you're walking. A popular ice cream place up the street, and groceries, liquor and fresh fish all within minutes. We spent most evenings grilling on the generous deck, overlooking a very large, landscaped, private yard. Plentiful parking and a garage for storing bikes. We recommend the house without reservation."

  • Wonderful family vacation

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family loved this house. It provides a beautiful setting for a wonderful family vacation. The views are spectacular from both outside and inside the house. The house is tastefully decorated and is a very comfortable place to spend time. It has plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. It had everything we needed and the rental agent provided any extra services we requested. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a special place to vacation. Manager responded on 9/23/2014: We are gratified that you enjoyed Pigeon Cove House as much as we thought you would! We know that you have rented properties which had rates that were twice as much as Pigeon Cove, and are extremely happy that you feel that you received a good value in addition to your fabulous vacation. We look forward to having you back in 2015! Best, AVH Staff"

  • Marblehead's Hidden Treasure

"This was my first visit ever to Marblehead, Salem & Boston. The house on 54 Lee Street was amazing!!! As soon as you walked into this house, we fell in love with it!!! It was very clean and very comfortable. We had a party of six people and it easily accommodated all of us. This house possessed both qualities of a historical and modern feel. The house has so much charm and character. The location of the house was close to Salem and only a short train ride away from Boston. We had such a great time and would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Marblehead."
