  • The beach and the ocean are the yard!

"This was our second year staying here. The location is wonderful and the beach is clean and sandy. There is a large, comfortable deck with a well-kept grill and the entire deck overlooks the beach and the ocean. The units are very clean and comfortable and the owner goes to exceptional lengths to ensure guests comfort. The layout of the house is great, with a large, well-equiped, clean (the appliances are new/newer) kitchen, with a sliding glass door opening to the deck. The bedrooms are very comfortable and clean and there's a full bath with a tub and shower. This section of the beach is not congested and very family friendly. Although there are two units, one upstairs (where we stayed), and one downstairs, we never felt like we were sharing a house. There is a rare feeling of privacy which is hard to come by. At night, there are fireworks on the beach and you can see the firework disiplays in Hampton Beach which is only a five minute drive. Oh, yes, although we don't fish, many days folks were pulling in very large fish just by fishing from the shore. We have been looking for the perfect vacation spot for years and we have found it. We are planning on staying two weeks next year."

  • Cozy Cottage for a Family

"I rented this unit for my daughter and her family. They have 3 young children, the youngest being a little over 1. The layout of the unit was exceptionally convenient for them. The 3 bedrooms provided ample privacy, while the living space was open, bright and perfect for the children to play. The washer and dryer were such a bonus, and all of the appliances worked as they should. The refrigerator was spotless, and there were lots of clean dishes and all of the necessary sundry items you need handy (paper towels, coffee filters, soap, etc.) The children loved sleeping in the bunk beds, and the adults felt very safe having them close by. The open design of the unit made it particularly safe for the youngest to roam freely. Since the visit was in winter, they didn't take advantage of being at the beach, but the views of the marsh were lovely. Susan was so accommodating and helpful. She did a great job getting the unit ready and seeing that we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend doing business with her, and I look forward to doing so again!"

"What a lovely little house for a best friends get away. We loved the view of the ocean and our host Elizabeth was so helpful with suggestions for outings. Very accessible to shops and little towns around the area. Easy access to Hwy's for a fun day in Salem or Boston. Thanks for such a lovely time."

  • Annual Family Vacation

"This was our second summer at the Golden Cottage and it was more enjoyable than the first. The set up of the home, the great views and perfect location make the Golden Cottage a great family gathering spot. Don't miss the Lobster Pot, best lobsters ever and for a special night we would recommend The Market Restaurant in Gloucester."
