  • Great location, efficient and approachable owner, super experience!

"My family and I spent an incredibly relaxing Columbus Day weekend at this cozy home on the beach (literally -- you cross a street and you're on the Atlantic Ocean!). Well equipped, close to great food, interesting supermarkets and wine store, a lovely bird sanctuary through which to walk (within walking distance), near to Buzzard's Nest brewery and Westport Winery, beautiful beaches (Horse Neck State Beach) with a firepit outdoors and the sound of the ocean. Wow, we needed this! The owner is responsive and promptly refunded our deposit, in addition to responding to all our e-mails and inquiries. This place is a great getaway for lots of different families. So glad we took this place! Thank you!"

  • Beautiful Hull

"Wife and I stayed there with our two small dogs the last of Sept-first of Oct 2014. Place was all it was advertized and more. We did alot of sight seeing in Boston, Cape Cod and Salem. The owner was super nice and it turned out to be a vacation of a life time. The town was beautiful and the people were very friendly in fact the whole area had nice people and we were very comfortable there. Would reccomend (sp?) it to anyone who wants a great vacation. We were there after the tourist season so got to get in to any restraunt or shop right away and no crowds. It's not for the people who want to party, then go in summer, I understand the place is really busy. One note, we drove from Minnesota and if we were to do it again we would buy an EZ Pass, this makes all the toll roads and bridges easier to navigate and would have saved us a lot of money and time, no stopping at the toll booths, everything is automatic."

  • Lovely Cottage!

"My husband, daughter and I stayed here in July and it was wonderful! The house was very clean and the beds were comfy. It was so nice having a kitchen and a place to eat in the back screened in lanai(lovely lanai). We didn't use the air conditioning to much because there was always a nice breeze that carried through the house. I would definitely stay here again. My family and I travel a lot and this house was a great place for a vacation. The owner was also very nice and accommodating. The garden in the back was nice and we even used the fire pit one night to make smores! This place felt like home."

  • Fantastic rare historic home

"My sister visited from Europe and our two families stayed at this truly incredible home for a June vacation. All of us were in awe when we arrived and started exploring. The 1684 house seemed compact from the outside, but as we went through the hallways and stairs and discovered room after room after room, we found that we had to go through the house again to take it all in. The house has been meticulously maintained and restored, with antiques and period furnishings throughout. Each room is an absolute pleasure to take in, not only for the incredible 17th century woodwork, but also for the furnishings, which all have beautiful natural textures, warm neutral hues, and deep rich antique bronzes. We made our way out the back door and were in awe anew when we saw the yard and garden. The house sits atop a small river valley, and you are surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of the rushing water below. The yard is terraced, and the top terrace has a covered patio. The brick patio has dining seating as well as Adirondack chairs. Down some stone stairs is the next level, with wood chairs and a firepit. Down the next set of stairs is a gated fence (nice safety feature). Behind that gate was a surprise circular deck (like a large "O") which allowed you to walk along in the dappled light under the trees to the old well and stream (now a lily pond) and down to the mill stream with the Plymouth Grist Mill on the opposite bank. The beautiful towering foliage, colorful flowers, birdsong, and rushing water make the backyard a wonderfully tranquil and restful sanctuary. This is not just a place to stay. It's a place to experience. You get to enjoy a 17th century home with hidden modern luxuries. The Sub zero refrigerators, television, and wifi router are hidden behind cabinets. The beautiful quilt on the bed has a fluffy down comforter underneath. The kitchen is better equipped than any home we've rented through VRBO throughout the years. Other highlights: - Proximity to everything we cared about: lovely beaches, historical sites (there is a gorgeous tree-lined path along the river that you can take from the grist mill to Plymouth Rock), an 18 minute drive to Cape Cod, and an hour drive to Boston. - Variety of bedrooms and bed sizes - Sitting areas on both the 1st floor and 2nd floor - A layout that thrilled the kids - "I found a hidden staircase!" - A thoroughly clean house, gleaming tile showers - A wonderful property contact We absolutely loved it!"
