  • Exceptional Vacation Home! better than described

"We enjoyed a 4 generation family vacation - house is spacious, well appointed and equipped. Owned by a gracious family who are the primary users of the house. Family pictures, decoration and amenities make the house feel like home. One of the owners lives close by and is most attentive to any needs. Beach is rounded rocks at high tide, some sand a lower tides. Access via a sloped path and stairs. With swim shoes, swimming is fine. House was clean and ready for us when we arrived. We would recommend this home to any large family. Our family was unanimous in wanting to come back next year."

  • What a find!

"My sister and I had a great stay at Sky House. Very comfy, cosy, wonderful views. We had a bedroom each, and there is a handy half-bath upstairs, not listed. We enjoyed the warm fall weather on the deck overlooking the ocean, then spent most of our time cycling, and walking the wonderful unspoilt beaches of the area. We loved West Island, Demarest Lloyd, Horseneck Beach, Gooseberry Island, Allens Pond Mass Audubon - never even made it to the Phoenix bike trail or the many beautiful historic buildings right in Fairhaven, or the whaling museum! We took our own food and ate most meals in (the kitchen is well-equipped) but there are plenty of restaurants and markets in Fairhaven. We took the ferry over to Cuttyhunk Island - be warned after Labor Day everything is closed up tight (take your own food!). We found the whole area to be uncrowded and untouristy, and will definitely be back. Only 87 miles, an easy drive from my Central Mass home."

  • Wonderful house and yard

"My family of 6 adults spent a wonderful week here. We had 3 dogs between us and it was a great place for all concerned! The house is very comfortable and each room had ample fresh air and open windows. The sunroom is very nice to sit in and read; the yard was fantastic for the dogs (and us); the neighborhood was great for walking for us and the dogs. The beach was very nice; at low tide on a sunny day the water is plenty warm. The beach is also dog friendly, and they loved playing there. The neighbors were all very friendly as well. There are nice public tennis courts very close by, and several nice restaurants (we particularly enjoyed 42 degrees) also very close by. Not to mention Mary Lou's coffee within close walking distance! Plymouth has history ( we went to the grist mill) and shopping (Colony Place, Mayflower Brewing) within a short drive. In addition, it is very close to Boston if you have family/friends who need to be close or commute. The house is not for those looking for modern conveniences, although the wifi works just fine. The hall bathroom downstairs has no shower, and the porch stairs are tall and not greatly lit at night, if any of you have trouble with stairs. However, the old stove works great, and all the appliances, while not the newest, work great as well! Finally, Dawn was a fantastic hostess who was available if we had problems (which we did not) and was very welcoming, as was her house. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming again when we vacation in this area!"

  • Lovely Cottage!

"My husband, daughter and I stayed here in July and it was wonderful! The house was very clean and the beds were comfy. It was so nice having a kitchen and a place to eat in the back screened in lanai(lovely lanai). We didn't use the air conditioning to much because there was always a nice breeze that carried through the house. I would definitely stay here again. My family and I travel a lot and this house was a great place for a vacation. The owner was also very nice and accommodating. The garden in the back was nice and we even used the fire pit one night to make smores! This place felt like home."
