  • Absolutely Fabulous!

"What a wonderful time we had at Barry's lovely home! The home itself was great. Very comfortable. So much fun for my 17 year old son and his girlfriend to swim, paddleboat, kayak, and fish in the rowboat. They loved to feed the ducks that stopped by every morning. My Mother and I loved just looking at the water and listening to music from the speakers on the deck. Easy access to the clear, sandy bottomed lake as well. The water was nice and warm. The yard and views are amazing. We went on another Whale Watch and my son and his girlfriend went deep sea fishing too! Amazing seafood restaurants (we recommend Wood's and Lobster Hut) as well as 99 restaurant that had a good steak! Cape Cod is so close we spent a day there and also at the Wellfleet Fleamarket. There is so much to do and see in the area that we missed because the kids wanted to stay at the lake all day! Needless to say we would recommend this lovely home to anyone! Thanks Barry, for a vacation to remember!"

  • Great beach house with million dollar view!

"My family of 7 really enjoyed our vacation week at this beach house. It was comfortable, clean, and the view was simply breathtaking from sunrise to sunset. The water was crystal clear and safe for even the younger kids to swim in. Bonfires at night were awesome under the stars. The town of Plymouth was great with lots to do, including the Plymouth Plantation, Mayflower II, spas, harbor cruises, and many really good places to eat. There was also a wonderful local seafood store where we got plenty of fresh fish and shellfish for grilling. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back!"

  • Fantastic rare historic home

"My sister visited from Europe and our two families stayed at this truly incredible home for a June vacation. All of us were in awe when we arrived and started exploring. The 1684 house seemed compact from the outside, but as we went through the hallways and stairs and discovered room after room after room, we found that we had to go through the house again to take it all in. The house has been meticulously maintained and restored, with antiques and period furnishings throughout. Each room is an absolute pleasure to take in, not only for the incredible 17th century woodwork, but also for the furnishings, which all have beautiful natural textures, warm neutral hues, and deep rich antique bronzes. We made our way out the back door and were in awe anew when we saw the yard and garden. The house sits atop a small river valley, and you are surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of the rushing water below. The yard is terraced, and the top terrace has a covered patio. The brick patio has dining seating as well as Adirondack chairs. Down some stone stairs is the next level, with wood chairs and a firepit. Down the next set of stairs is a gated fence (nice safety feature). Behind that gate was a surprise circular deck (like a large "O") which allowed you to walk along in the dappled light under the trees to the old well and stream (now a lily pond) and down to the mill stream with the Plymouth Grist Mill on the opposite bank. The beautiful towering foliage, colorful flowers, birdsong, and rushing water make the backyard a wonderfully tranquil and restful sanctuary. This is not just a place to stay. It's a place to experience. You get to enjoy a 17th century home with hidden modern luxuries. The Sub zero refrigerators, television, and wifi router are hidden behind cabinets. The beautiful quilt on the bed has a fluffy down comforter underneath. The kitchen is better equipped than any home we've rented through VRBO throughout the years. Other highlights: - Proximity to everything we cared about: lovely beaches, historical sites (there is a gorgeous tree-lined path along the river that you can take from the grist mill to Plymouth Rock), an 18 minute drive to Cape Cod, and an hour drive to Boston. - Variety of bedrooms and bed sizes - Sitting areas on both the 1st floor and 2nd floor - A layout that thrilled the kids - "I found a hidden staircase!" - A thoroughly clean house, gleaming tile showers - A wonderful property contact We absolutely loved it!"

  • Clean, Comfortable House with incredible deck

"This house was wonderful for the needs of our two families traveling together. A semi circle drive in front of the house with a fence allowed ample parking for our two vehicles but would accommodate more. The house was very clean and fully stocked with all necessary items, including linens, pillows, paper products and a welcoming bouquet of flowers also. The main floor consisted of a couple of small rooms (tv and living room) in addition to a laundry, bathroom, kitchen with breakfast nook and sun room that had amazing views in the morning. There was ample seating for all members of our party in the house and on the deck. The three bedrooms on the second floor were spacious and had everything that anyone could need. The beds were very comfortable and all the rooms had space to hang clothes as well as place in drawers. All receive early morning sunshine in part due to skylights. The fourth bedroom is in the basement which the kids loved and also had a view of the ocean. Most of the house has either hard wood or linoleum on the floors. The only draw backs to the house were the steep steps going to the second floor and lots of mosquito's in the evenings. The owner even provided citronella candles that helped and had the beautiful deck on the back wrapped in Christmas lights for a wonderful glow in the evenings. It was a perfect location for trips down to the Cape, into downtown Plymouth and up to Boston. The kitchen is well stocked which is good since there are not a lot of restaurants in the immediate area. As we traveled and did excursions each day, that wasn't really an issue for us. The beach access provided is a short drive but is for a rocky beach. A sandy beach is just a few minutes further away. We had a great time and thank them for everything!"
