  • Nice getaway in the woods

"We enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean though the house could use a few minor repairs, oiling of hinges, etc. Kitchen was well equipped. Surroundings are beatiful, the river, the waterfalls close by. The dogs enjoyed their freedom."

  • An Enchanting Home Where a Large Group Can Be Comfortable

"This is a magical place. The home itself, the way it's furnished, the way it sits on the site, the placement of the decks, the wonderfully landscaped backyard, all made for a very relaxing week for my extended family and I. The views from almost every area of the house, and from all of the decks, are perfect. We spent a lot of time say things like, "I don't know if I'll be able to leave," and "Why don't we live here?" I spent every summer of my childhood in Woods Hole but the week I spent here is one of my fondest memories. The location and number of the bedrooms and bathrooms make it truly comfortable for 10 people to be together but also to have private time. I also loved how the backyard ends with steps down to the bike path. Even though we never got around to renting bikes, all of us walked the bike path, and it served as a peaceful conduit either to other beaches or the village. We will be coming back."

  • Lovely neighborhood spot

"This was the perfect place to stay - homey, close to public transportation, and quiet. It was a quick T ride or a nice walk to the Copley Square convention center where I had a conference. The family was able to have a base to explore some of the off the beaten path beauties of Boston - Olmsted's emerald necklace gardens and the fine arts museum. It was very convenient for our rental car with lots of free street parking. The owners are wonderful."

  • A great locale on the North Shore

"We wanted to spend some time exploring Newburyport and surrounds, and the Carriage House provided a wonderful place to call home while we did just that. It had everything we needed to cook, relax, and get organized for our excursions. It is an easy walk to the riverfront, and we enjoyed seeing the historic homes and museums along the way. We loved the beaches and bird watching on Plum Island, and even took a day trip out to Gloucester and Rockport. Thank you for your hospitality! We have fond memories of our stay at the Carriage House, and the amazing Linden tree!"
