  • SOMETHING FOR ALL OF US!

"This rental gave us more than we could have expected. First impression, the place was spotless. We've stayed many places and they are buggy and cob-webbed. Not here, it is a beautiful knotty pine getaway. The lake is quiet and clear of weedy vegetation that gets in the way of relaxing swimming. The main house is roomy and the boathouse is comfy. We all had a place to relax. My 75 year old mother in law had her own room with a bathroom, so that she could step away from the excitement when she wanted. Our 9, 8 and 5 year olds swam and fished every day. The location is remote enough to be a getaway, yet close enough to go on day trips to Mackinac Island or Sleeping Bear dunes. Great summer vacation!"

  • Great Family Vacation Home

"This vacation rental was perfect for our 3 generation family. We had no problem finding the rental, and we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations even though the listing description and photos accurately reflected the appearance of the property. The layout of the house fit our needs perfectly and worked well for us regardless of the weather. The property was very clean, well maintained, and stocked with everything we needed and more. The location is great for forays to Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, and even Petoskey. There are some outstanding golf courses and restaurants around, and we even rented a pontoon boat at a Mullett Lake marina for a cruise around the lake one day. The shore at the rental is a bit rocky, but if you swim off the end of the dock, there is no problem. Water shoes can make it even better. We would definitely recommend this rental for anyone wanting to enjoy some pure "Up North" Michigan."

  • Nice Little Cottage

"Everything we needed for the weekend except for food and clothing was in the cottage. The kitchen was fully equipped, including a waffle iron, and coffee maker. The bedrooms are small but adequate, and we used a fan which came with the cottage to keep the bedrooms cool at night when we slept. Towels and linens were provided with the cottage, so no need to bring along towels unless you want them for use on the beach. The property is adjacent to a canal which leads into Otsego Lake. The canal is suitable for boats, but not swimming. For swimming there is the county park with a beach nearby , as well as the state park and a public beach. Our deposit was returned a week after we vacated the cottage."

  • Big Deck and Sand Box

"You know how you rent these places and pull up hoping it is nice, well you will be happy! The small things are easily overlooked by an outstanding view and the large Deck! The house is located on a quiet street, not directly on US23. The water was very cold for our trip, but this is an off year with the winter and summer we are having in Michigan. Inside the house there are plenty of tools in the spacious kitchen (Crockpot!, but no dishwasher). There is an upstairs full bath and a full bath in the basement by the washer and dryer. The beds are not the most comfortable, but are good enough; I would bring a blanket and pillows. The upstairs bathroom could use a fresh coat of paint on the cieling, but it is not gross. Most windows have nice screens to keep them open, and the master has a ceiling fan. The car port is a nice place for sitting when it rains, and so is the sun porch. The sun porch was also used by us to store our bikes and swim stuff while we headed out; check out Tony's Tacos in Tawas, Nates Bill of Fare in Oscoda and the beach on the point down Huron Road. We ended up eating in the sun porch because we could easily close the door to allow our child to sleep, and not lose out on fun time by having to be quite. The master has a queen and single, the next room has a queen and single, and a 'kids" room has a bunk bed set and single. Plenty of closet space and drawer space. There is a gas grill and charcoal grill; we used the gas grill, and it was prefect and large enough to fit six ears of corn and four large pieces of fish. There is a set of trees on the south side of the property for a hamock, and it is above the deck. This deck is huge! Very cool, but don't expect a beach below. Below the deck is a "dock" to walk out and dive in. A nice sturdy ladder is waiting to climb back out, but be careful, the steps are slimy and slippery; water shoes make the exit much safer and secure. The water was up to my chest most times, and you could walk across the front of the condos on the nice sandy lake bottom; I am 6'2". On the deck is a ten by ten sand box for laying out or building sand castles. It was a very nice feature, and we brought a blow-up mini pool for our daughter; luckly, because the water was too cold for her. We set the pool in the sand box, and we did not have to worry about her getting in the lake. There is a nice two person swing to have morning coffe on and relax. They need to update the pictures, theirs do not do the place justice."
