  • Absolutely Perfect.

"What a wonderful stay we had as a family for a father's day/birthday combo. Perfect sunset, my daughter adored the bunk bed room. This cottage literally had everything you need to be able to relax and enjoy some time away. We will definitely be staying again but next time for a longer amount of time. 4 days wasn't enough for this adorable getaway. 5 stars for sure."

  • Frequent golf traveler

"This was exactly as pictured. It got better as we saw it person. This was our yearly golf trip and it was the best one because everyone had their own bed. Very comfortable beds. We enjoyed cards at the big table (owner provided cards/chips set), cable tv was good for the Tigers' game, and the deck was a nice hang out spot for beers, golf shot bragging and sunsets. The owner is personable and checked in by text to see if all was good. I would recommend this to anyone who wants the best nights sleep while away from home, while getting a great place to be awake too. It felt like we were visiting friends, not a sterile rental! Very cool place for a guy's weekend golf trip!"

  • A Perfect Vacation Spot

"Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage. It is perfect-sized for a family of 4 and the layout if perfect for little kids to run around without worrying about them getting lost or hurt. We spent hours on the beach and water, and enjoyed the sunsets on the swing each night. The cottage was compact but included everything you would need. Wireless internet and coffee was a plus. It was clean and cutely decorated. Definitely well-cared for. Val and Ed were great hosts, we really felt welcome."

  • Wonderful family vacation spot!

"We had 9 in our party - 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and two 3 year-old granddaughters, along with my husband and myself. We had planned to do some day trips in the area, but enjoyed spending time at the "vacation house" so much that we only ventured out 1 or 2 days. The guys fished, the girls swam and the little ones just enjoyed everything! The house is well furnished, clean and we would love to stay there again. The owners were very helpful and responded promptly to any questions we had. I would highly recommend it!!!"

Gaylord Vacation Rentals Let You Stay in the Heart of Northern Lower Michigan

Gaylord vacation rentals keep you close to shopping, dining, music festivals, and art galleries, not to mention a huge array of outdoor activities to be enjoyed year-round. Dubbed the Alpine Village, Gaylord has a unique combination of quaint small-town ambience and clean modern convenience.

Recreational Opportunities Are Never Hard to Find in Gaylord

Northeast Michigan lake houses near Gaylord are great places to stay for anyone interested in fishing. With several lakes and rivers in the area, angling and fly-fishing are among the most popular pastimes among locals and visitors alike. The Manistee and Au Sable Rivers run parallel through the area and offer fishermen of any skill or experience level the chance to make a great catch. Gaylord is also located in the center of Michigan's Snow Belt, which means there's plenty of the fluffy white stuff all around town—about 180 inches per year. So naturally snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and alpine skiing are huge recreational draws to the area during the winter months. During certain seasons, Gaylord is a hunter's paradise with terrain that yields whitetail deer, squirrels, fauna, and waterfowl.
