"Five friends and I spent the weekend in this beautiful chalet. The décor is adorable, the house in pristine condition. It was the perfect spot to accommodate six people comfortably.
We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and walking/running along the dirt roads. We put the hot tub to good use!
Everyone had a great time--the location was incredibly tranquil and provided a venue for fun and relaxation for an affordable price."

"Leaning Birch Lodge was our choice for our family's only get-away this year. We only had 5 days and we really wanted to make them count. What a perfect choice this cottage was! Our children are 4, 2, and 6 months, and this place was just the right size: not too big, not too cramped. The living area was spacious enough to spread out on furniture and the floor for games. Both bedrooms were large, giving the kids another area to go play. And our kids LOVED the really special log bunks with log ladder - this was major highlight for them! The sunporch was my favorite place, especially after dinner until bed time . . . peaceful and bright and wonderful. One of my very favorite things about the cottage was all of the artifacts from my youth, or even my parents' youth! Life Magazines back to the early 60s, beautiful furniture serving its purpose for decades, perfectly functional kitchen utensils from the 70s. The whole place was old and cottage-y enough to feel really special and relaxed, but the amenities were modern enough to make it all comfortable. Very clean, too. The sunsets were breathtaking. It felt like Leaning Birch Lodge was the most perfectly situated property in the entire world to see a great sunset. And due to our dates and the up north locale, I stayed outside reading a book until after 10:00 one evening . . . with no other light. The days were looooong on Otsego Lake! For the price, the comfort, the location, and the ambiance, Leaning Birch Lodge was IT. We will go back!"

"The house was perfect for our group of 8, ranging from 5 years old to 65 years old! Everyone had enough space (even the three teenagers) and we didn't see any neighbors unless they were going past on their boats. Everything we needed to cook, clean and enjoy ourselves was available. The screened porch is a perfect place for early morning coffee while listening to and watching the loons. The lake is amazingly clear out to at least 12 feet deep, was warm enough to swim and there was never a problem catching fish! The beach area by the lake is a little small, but we were able to set up a place for a volleyball net in the sand by the house with enough space left for the 5 year old to play with buckets and shovels. We did not have any problems. No one was ready to leave at the end of our vacation. We hope to return next year."

"Best family vacation house we've had yet. The ten kids found lots to do on the grounds while the ten adults relaxed on the truly HUGE pier. This grandma loved the isolation and the absence of TV, motors and the spotty internet/phone connections! The accommodations allowed each family to have their own bathroom and sleeping space, which is rare and much appreciated by all--especially the in-laws! We are grateful the McIntyres are kind enough to share their little bit of heaven."
