  • Great time!

"The cottage is very nice and very spacious. Exactly as described by photos. We could really spread out. We had 6 in our group. It was clean and well maintained, with all the amenities of home. The ping pong table offers a chance for your competitive side to come out. The paddle boat is fun and adds to the lake experience. The owner was very helpful with all my questions and went above and beyond. When he found out the grill didn't work he brought us a new one! Wow! I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for tranquil lake side living. With many things near by. We found many restaurants, {Dianne's} was our favorite for Breakfast or Lunch. We also went to grayling to kayak, was so much fun. There are many things to do in town. We found beautiful trails where you can walk and spot Elk. We had great weather and enjoyed every minute."

  • Wonderful family vacation spot!

"We had 9 in our party - 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and two 3 year-old granddaughters, along with my husband and myself. We had planned to do some day trips in the area, but enjoyed spending time at the "vacation house" so much that we only ventured out 1 or 2 days. The guys fished, the girls swam and the little ones just enjoyed everything! The house is well furnished, clean and we would love to stay there again. The owners were very helpful and responded promptly to any questions we had. I would highly recommend it!!!"

  • Great time

"We rented for a long weekend with another couple. The house was even better than the pictures and had everything we needed. Weather was perfect, got to see the lovely fall colors of the trees from the deck. Sunrises were fantastic. We caught some bass and bluegills from shore, never did get out in the rowboat due to time constraints. Tom and Dorothy were very hospitable and had some great stories. We hope to rent this place again in September, 2014."

Gaylord Travel Tips

Gaylord Vacation Rentals Let You Stay in the Heart of Northern Lower Michigan

Located on the 45th parallel in Northern Michigan, Gaylord is extremely convenient to area attractions and activities. Gaylord vacation rentals keep you close to shopping, dining, music festivals, and art galleries, not to mention a huge array of outdoor activities to be enjoyed year-round. Dubbed the Alpine Village, Gaylord has a unique combination of quaint small-town ambience and clean modern convenience.

Recreational Opportunities Are Never Hard to Find in Gaylord

Northeast Michigan lake houses near Gaylord are great places to stay for anyone interested in fishing. With several lakes and rivers in the area, angling and fly-fishing are among the most popular pastimes among locals and visitors alike. The Manistee and Au Sable Rivers run parallel through the area and offer fishermen of any skill or experience level the chance to make a great catch. Gaylord is also located in the center of Michigan's Snow Belt, which means there's plenty of the fluffy white stuff all around town—about 180 inches per year. So naturally snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and alpine skiing are huge recreational draws to the area during the winter months. During certain seasons, Gaylord is a hunter's paradise with terrain that yields whitetail deer, squirrels, fauna, and waterfowl.
