"We just returned from the cottage in Hale, MI, and are ready to go back! The cottage was lovely, yet very comfortable. It was the perfect place for a week-long unwind. We used the pontoon boat twice a day, floating/cruising around the lake was fabulous and very relaxing. We had campfires and s’mores at night and beautiful sunrises over the lake. Everything we needed was there, from forks for roasting marshmallows to a great coffee pot to a washer and dryer. There were chairs around the campfire, a table and chairs on the deck, lounge chairs on the lawn – did I mention that this is the place to relax? Paul is a fantastic host and so very easy to work with. We are looking forward to next summer already!"

"Our stay at the Loon Lake Hideway was fantastic and was perfect for our group of 7 (4 adults, 3 children). Too many positives to list but here are a few:
- Owner was great to work with and very helpful with questions
- House had all the accommodations you can ask for including a pontoon boat
- Location was perfect. Quiet location with small beach for the kids
- The lake was crystal clear and not crowded so you can feel safe tubing / skiing with younger children.
- Fishing was good but mostly limited to Large Mouth (largest was 4.8lbs), Small Mouth, Rock Bass and Pan fish. We did see a Northern Pike but never caught one.
I highly recommend this location for those looking for a quiet get a way either relaxing on the beach, fishing or doing some sort of water sports. I can't comment on the local attractions since the only time we left was to get food and gas however our intentions were never to sight see."

So many amenities & little touches that made us all feel so cozy, comfortable and happy! The view of the sunsets from the amazing bonfire pit was priceless! We had an unforgettable time and made lots of family memories! Thank you so much for such a great week!"

"This place is so spacious and comfortable, I didn't want to leave. We had a group of 15 and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchens were well equipped and it was easy to cook a nice meal for a large crowd with two of everything. It was nice having the washer and dryer, especially with kids. We loved the huge covered deck with ceiling fans and large tables and chairs. The view was amazing and we even saw an eagle as we sipped our coffee on the deck one morning. The lodge is clean and beautifully decorated. I liked that one side of the lodge was nautical themed and the other side was woodsy themed. Everything was perfect. The beds were comfortable and there was a nice breeze provided by the large window in each bedroom. I loved the ceiling fans in every bed room too. We all took showers and didn't run out of hot water. The lodge was certainly built with comfort, convenience and character in mind.
Long Lake is clean and clear with lots of fish. The best ones we caught were right off our own dock. We swam and thoroughly enjoyed being on the lake 24/7. The back yard is spacious and we set up a volley ball net. We also enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement. It was nice being able to spread out, if some wanted to play a board game and others wanted to watch a movie. I liked that two of the bedrooms and bathrooms were on the main floor for my elderly parents that can't maneuver stairs.
We would love to make the long lake lookout lodge an annual place to gather every year. It certainly is a home away from home in every aspect. Can't wait to go again!"
