  • Great time!

"The cottage is very nice and very spacious. Exactly as described by photos. We could really spread out. We had 6 in our group. It was clean and well maintained, with all the amenities of home. The ping pong table offers a chance for your competitive side to come out. The paddle boat is fun and adds to the lake experience. The owner was very helpful with all my questions and went above and beyond. When he found out the grill didn't work he brought us a new one! Wow! I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for tranquil lake side living. With many things near by. We found many restaurants, {Dianne's} was our favorite for Breakfast or Lunch. We also went to grayling to kayak, was so much fun. There are many things to do in town. We found beautiful trails where you can walk and spot Elk. We had great weather and enjoyed every minute."

  • Big Deck and Sand Box

"You know how you rent these places and pull up hoping it is nice, well you will be happy! The small things are easily overlooked by an outstanding view and the large Deck! The house is located on a quiet street, not directly on US23. The water was very cold for our trip, but this is an off year with the winter and summer we are having in Michigan. Inside the house there are plenty of tools in the spacious kitchen (Crockpot!, but no dishwasher). There is an upstairs full bath and a full bath in the basement by the washer and dryer. The beds are not the most comfortable, but are good enough; I would bring a blanket and pillows. The upstairs bathroom could use a fresh coat of paint on the cieling, but it is not gross. Most windows have nice screens to keep them open, and the master has a ceiling fan. The car port is a nice place for sitting when it rains, and so is the sun porch. The sun porch was also used by us to store our bikes and swim stuff while we headed out; check out Tony's Tacos in Tawas, Nates Bill of Fare in Oscoda and the beach on the point down Huron Road. We ended up eating in the sun porch because we could easily close the door to allow our child to sleep, and not lose out on fun time by having to be quite. The master has a queen and single, the next room has a queen and single, and a 'kids" room has a bunk bed set and single. Plenty of closet space and drawer space. There is a gas grill and charcoal grill; we used the gas grill, and it was prefect and large enough to fit six ears of corn and four large pieces of fish. There is a set of trees on the south side of the property for a hamock, and it is above the deck. This deck is huge! Very cool, but don't expect a beach below. Below the deck is a "dock" to walk out and dive in. A nice sturdy ladder is waiting to climb back out, but be careful, the steps are slimy and slippery; water shoes make the exit much safer and secure. The water was up to my chest most times, and you could walk across the front of the condos on the nice sandy lake bottom; I am 6'2". On the deck is a ten by ten sand box for laying out or building sand castles. It was a very nice feature, and we brought a blow-up mini pool for our daughter; luckly, because the water was too cold for her. We set the pool in the sand box, and we did not have to worry about her getting in the lake. There is a nice two person swing to have morning coffe on and relax. They need to update the pictures, theirs do not do the place justice."

  • Lovely Home on the Lake!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend even though the weather did not cooperate! The home is very comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well-equipped and had everything we needed, and I love to cook. An extra plus was the paddle boat and kayaks. We had lots of fun on those. We hope to return with our daughter and her family since there is lots of room for a big family. It would be perfect since there are basically two living spaces with the walkout basement and family room on the lower level. When we were there, the lake was very quiet, which provided for a peaceful, relaxing weekend! All-in-all, everything was great!!"

  • Great place to get away from the downstate rat race.....

"Fun place - not too many places where you can be on a lake and not see anyone on the water. We had some great days of catch n release bass fishing. Floated the AuSable (only 15 minutes north - 3 hour float not one cabin). Sandy beaches on Lake Huron another day (about 40-45 minutes). Also had lots of BDB's (Back Deck Beers) on huge back deck. Saw a bald eagle perched on a tree overlooking the lake one day - (nice way to start the morning). Lake is clear (very few weeds) - fun for swimming and relaxing. The kayaks and Stand Up Paddle Board were a bonus. Interior of cabin is comfortable with a big kitchen and living room. Another bonus if coming from Detroit area is the drive is easy - a little less then 3 hours. I will be back."
