  • A Special Place!

"We stayed in this rental October 2012 and the only thing wrong was that we started our trip here, then went on to tent camp for 3 days after - we had been spoiled and it was freezing! lol! We had a great time here, hot tub was great, cooked some amazing meals, river was beautiful, slept like logs and stayed nice and cozy by the fire. It was a last minute planned trip and the owner was so helpful and quick to respond, thank you!"

  • Loved, loved this "resort"

"My daughter and I stayed at this property for a much needed vacation following a death in the family. We had to cancel our original summer plans and rescheduled to the week after Labor Day. The "resort" had everything we needed to make our getaway a memorable one. The condo had everything it promised! We had always vacationed on Higgins Lake in the summer but enjoyed the cool, fall weather with fantastic views and beautiful sunsets. The owner, Joan, is wonderful to work with and we are hoping to come back next year."

  • GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

"We very much enjoyed our week long stay at Tattrie's Cottage. There is nothing wrong with the bathroom. It is a small, single shower, but it has a curtain rather than a door, so there is elbow room, although the shower head is low for taller people. The bathroom itself is plenty big. Everything that you could possibly want was supplied. The charcoal grill is a nice big grill. Although there is no air conditioning, there are fans in every room. Still, it is rustic, which is not for everyone, but we found it to be charming. The water was nice and boat traffic was to a minimum. The kids loved jumping off the end of the dock, which is shallow. We also enjoyed the canoe and fishing boat, as well as the sunsets. Nice that they also had plenty of chairs for around the campfire."

  • Great Place for a Fantastic Week Up-North

"My family (wife and 2 kids; ages 4 and 7) and I stayed at the house for a week in August. The home was as described and had everything we needed for our stay. There was plenty of room inside for all of us and our stuff. The beach area is a bit rocky (this is Lake Huron after all) so you should probably bring water shoes, but overall the lakefront is beautiful. There's a nice lighthouse view and you'll be treated to a steady stream of freighters and other large boats passing by. The constant lapping of the waves on the shore is one of the most relaxing sounds imaginable, and makes for great background "noise" as you end your day by a bonfire. Location is perfect: a short drive to downtown Cheboygan and only a half hour or so to Mackinaw City, so the house works great as a launching pad to other are activities. Some of our favorites were: Mackinac Island, Ocqueoc Falls, and the Headlands International Dark Sky Park."
