  • Great Fishing Retreat

"I organized a fly fishing trip for 7 of us to stay at this great property located directly on the main branch of the Manistee River. The owners, John and Diane were great to interact with during the booking process. Their 3 BR, 2 BA home was clean and spacious. The property was secluded, and had steps leading directly to their own dock on the river. Some of us went to Traverse City for an afternoon since it was a short 45 minutes to town. Thank you John and Diane for answering all of my questions before and during our stay. My buddies enjoyed the place, and said they were now spoiled for future fishing trips. Take care, Mike"

  • Beautiful neighborhood, immaculate cottage,

"Our family just returned from a happy weekend away, staying at this charming cottage which is very well-kept and refreshing for the soul. Our kids (2 & 3) had a great time playing on the beach, just a short walk away; playing in the wonderful, private backyard of this property; and riding bikes down to the playground and inland lake 1/2 mile away. We also thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful morning paddle on the river. We appreciated all the property had to offer - with a thoughtful owner who made sure no detail was forgotten. It was just right for us!"

  • Great time

"We rented for a long weekend with another couple. The house was even better than the pictures and had everything we needed. Weather was perfect, got to see the lovely fall colors of the trees from the deck. Sunrises were fantastic. We caught some bass and bluegills from shore, never did get out in the rowboat due to time constraints. Tom and Dorothy were very hospitable and had some great stories. We hope to rent this place again in September, 2014."

  • A Great Stay @ Bell Bay!!!

"Another awesome vacation at Bell Bay!!! We enjoyed exploring the area and checking out several of the local attractions. The lighthouses on Presque Isle are beautiful and have an interesting history. In town, we loved the community feel while visiting the farmers market and several of independent shops. Our family had a blast renting bikes from Performance Locker and riding around the downtown district. We also loved hanging out at the cottage, soaking up the sun at the beach, and enjoying the view of the bay. Overall, it was another great stay at Bell Bay. This was our families third year there and we are already looking forward to next summer!"

Mio Travel Tips

Mio Vacation Rentals: The Season of Adventure

Straddling the borders of Big Creek and Mentor Townships is Mio; an unincorporated community with much to offer for those seeking an escape from city distractions. Unlike the large areas that surround it, this small Michigan town (its population barely graces 2000) is ideal for families yearning for a quiet adventure. And Mio vacation rentals remove the usual distances that accompany such days and allow only the thrills to remain. You'll be surrounded by nature and ready always for joy.

Mio Lodging: The Center of the Wild

You relish the physical, you long for the bold, and you're certain that Mio will provide it for you. But you're certain also that another crowded hotel will simply not suffice. Your family can't bear another night tucked inside such small corners. With Northeast Michigan lake houses they won't have to. Before trekking out to discover the world, allow yourself complete ease. Prepare for the fun with all the conveniences of home. Modern style is common (and necessary).

Things to Do Near Mio Lodging

After enjoying a leisurely morning in your Mio lodging, set out to search along the Au Sable River. This massive stretch of water features some of the best fishing in the entire country and some of the best landscapes as well. The views are spectacular. Travel then to the Parmalee Trading Post, which offers canoeing and rafting tours. The Michigan Valley Railroad weaves you through the countryside. Seek out the Huron National Forest, with its 978,725 acres and countless paths to explore. And follow the Michigan Shore-to-Shore Trail for horseback riding and scenic views. You'll never be without the wilderness.

Northeast Michigan Lake Houses: Close to the Magic

Allow yourself the chance to indulge in beauty this season. With Mio vacation rentals, you are never far from the wonders of the world. They're instead right beyond your door. Traveling is simple again.
