  • Big Deck and Sand Box

"You know how you rent these places and pull up hoping it is nice, well you will be happy! The small things are easily overlooked by an outstanding view and the large Deck! The house is located on a quiet street, not directly on US23. The water was very cold for our trip, but this is an off year with the winter and summer we are having in Michigan. Inside the house there are plenty of tools in the spacious kitchen (Crockpot!, but no dishwasher). There is an upstairs full bath and a full bath in the basement by the washer and dryer. The beds are not the most comfortable, but are good enough; I would bring a blanket and pillows. The upstairs bathroom could use a fresh coat of paint on the cieling, but it is not gross. Most windows have nice screens to keep them open, and the master has a ceiling fan. The car port is a nice place for sitting when it rains, and so is the sun porch. The sun porch was also used by us to store our bikes and swim stuff while we headed out; check out Tony's Tacos in Tawas, Nates Bill of Fare in Oscoda and the beach on the point down Huron Road. We ended up eating in the sun porch because we could easily close the door to allow our child to sleep, and not lose out on fun time by having to be quite. The master has a queen and single, the next room has a queen and single, and a 'kids" room has a bunk bed set and single. Plenty of closet space and drawer space. There is a gas grill and charcoal grill; we used the gas grill, and it was prefect and large enough to fit six ears of corn and four large pieces of fish. There is a set of trees on the south side of the property for a hamock, and it is above the deck. This deck is huge! Very cool, but don't expect a beach below. Below the deck is a "dock" to walk out and dive in. A nice sturdy ladder is waiting to climb back out, but be careful, the steps are slimy and slippery; water shoes make the exit much safer and secure. The water was up to my chest most times, and you could walk across the front of the condos on the nice sandy lake bottom; I am 6'2". On the deck is a ten by ten sand box for laying out or building sand castles. It was a very nice feature, and we brought a blow-up mini pool for our daughter; luckly, because the water was too cold for her. We set the pool in the sand box, and we did not have to worry about her getting in the lake. There is a nice two person swing to have morning coffe on and relax. They need to update the pictures, theirs do not do the place justice."

  • A Great Stay @ Bell Bay!!!

"Another awesome vacation at Bell Bay!!! We enjoyed exploring the area and checking out several of the local attractions. The lighthouses on Presque Isle are beautiful and have an interesting history. In town, we loved the community feel while visiting the farmers market and several of independent shops. Our family had a blast renting bikes from Performance Locker and riding around the downtown district. We also loved hanging out at the cottage, soaking up the sun at the beach, and enjoying the view of the bay. Overall, it was another great stay at Bell Bay. This was our families third year there and we are already looking forward to next summer!"

  • Cute place

"We rented the cottage for two nights because we went to Gaylord to go snowmobiling. The cottage does have everything you need including pans, dishes, and paper supplies. I must say the cottage is well appointed. Everything is new and looks nice. The bathroom is spa-like. The room with the bunk beds is very small and hard to move around for an adult. My kids didn't end up sleeping in there because the heater was right by this room and it was loud. So this wouldn't be a problem in the summer time. I know that I knew up front but I didn't like having to clean up the place including washing the sheets and towels, cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, etc. It is a lot to get done before you check out at 11:00. I would not have had enough time if I would have had to wash the bunk bed sheets too and if I didn't wash the towels the night before. The owner was fair and easy to work with."
