  • Charming, warm lake house with beautiful view

"Being from California, I had never really seen fall color, so we decided upon Michigan this year to have a real "autumn" experience. We spent several nights at this lovely cottage on Clear Lake. Because of the time of year, it was quiet and tranquil and the view across the water was gorgeous. The autumn weather was lovely and the leaves were vibrant. It was warm enough during the day to go out and walk in the woods, and kayak and paddle board, but cool enough in the evening to snuggle by the fire place (which works and warms great). I don't think the photos of the cabin really fairly show how close you are to the edge of the lake; you can hear the water lapping against the shore. The cottage is a wee bit dated, but I found that entirely charming and warm. The owner has recently added WiFi service, so that is not longer an inconvenience. And the food at the local bar is pretty dang good. Highly recommend a stay here on Clear Lake."

  • AWESOME LAKE FRONT HOUSE WITH GREAT NEIGHBORS AND ALL THE AMMENITIES NEEDED FOR A GREAT FISHING TRIP

"The owner was great to work with on a super short notice, not to mention LABOR DAY WEEKEND. The house and property were perfect for a fishing trip with 10 friends. Easy commute to the Indian River and the Inn Between Bar and Grill. We even made friends with the neighbor and had a great time with a late night Bon fire at his house. The house has everything you need and a great sun porch for euchre, poker, etc. I have a 150 hp outboard and had no problem pulling up to the dock. We also rented a pontoon close by and had plenty of room to dock that as well. I highly recommend this house and will definitely rent again from Beverly."

  • :)

"The Arnolds cabin was absolutely beautiful an so was the property! Deffinatly exceeded both my husband and my expectations. My husband and I were spending a quite weekend alone and we had a great time! The fireplace worked great at night for our small fire! While siting on the screened in porch we saw 3 deer. Would love to go back around the end of summer and take our son so we could enjoy the fact that this cabin is right on the Manistee river! Very quiet, peaceful & not to far out of town! Two thumbs up! I hope we can go to this cabin again, it is an absolutely perfect "up north" cabin!!!!"

  • A Cottage, NOT!

"My idea of a cottage is an old, musky and well-worn place, where you have to listen to a squeaky old screen door that doesn't quite close. Where mosquitos follow you indoors and outdoors. This is anything but a cottage. It is a private get-away. A retreat. A place where you can watch the sunrise, skip stones and have a private campfire. We used this as our base, which is only 20 minutes from the "Mighty Mac." While there we visited the Soo Locks, Tahquamenon Falls, Sleepy Bear Dunes, Mackinaw City, and Mackinac Island. The only reason we would not recommend this place is because we want to go next year and don't want the competition."
