  • Little Piece of Paradise

"Just got back from a week at the Carriage House and miss it already!! What a little piece of Paradise!! Needed a relaxing vacation and this rental had everything we needed. Wildlife galore which included seeing brown cranes every morning, hearing the beautiful, haunting call of the Loons daily, Swans, Eagles diving for fish while we enjoyed the "Tiki Bar", Snapping Turtles coming on land to lay their eggs, Canadian Geese, and Ducks galore, and deer visiting every morning. Pat and Marcia are two of the greatest people we have had the pleasure of meeting; forming a bond with them immediately. We enjoyed their hospitality immensely. Looking forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you both for making our vacation a memorable one."

  • A Cottage, NOT!

"My idea of a cottage is an old, musky and well-worn place, where you have to listen to a squeaky old screen door that doesn't quite close. Where mosquitos follow you indoors and outdoors. This is anything but a cottage. It is a private get-away. A retreat. A place where you can watch the sunrise, skip stones and have a private campfire. We used this as our base, which is only 20 minutes from the "Mighty Mac." While there we visited the Soo Locks, Tahquamenon Falls, Sleepy Bear Dunes, Mackinaw City, and Mackinac Island. The only reason we would not recommend this place is because we want to go next year and don't want the competition."

  • Older cabin charm

"Easy access to Topinabee and Indian River by power boat. Clean and well maintained, it has rustic wooden paneling and decor that will take you back in time a when you arrive. Sunsets are beautiful for this location. On demand water heater means you don't run out of hot water - even when the cabin is at full capacity."

  • Great time!

"The cottage is very nice and very spacious. Exactly as described by photos. We could really spread out. We had 6 in our group. It was clean and well maintained, with all the amenities of home. The ping pong table offers a chance for your competitive side to come out. The paddle boat is fun and adds to the lake experience. The owner was very helpful with all my questions and went above and beyond. When he found out the grill didn't work he brought us a new one! Wow! I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for tranquil lake side living. With many things near by. We found many restaurants, {Dianne's} was our favorite for Breakfast or Lunch. We also went to grayling to kayak, was so much fun. There are many things to do in town. We found beautiful trails where you can walk and spot Elk. We had great weather and enjoyed every minute."
