"This Lodge is truly beautiful! From the HUGE logs that were used to build it , to the tiny little stones that were meticulously laid and must have taken forever to do! The quality of workmanship is evident throughout . And is a testament to the owners wish of making your stay a very memorable experience. The front porch and wrap around deck is out of this world. A cozy place to curl up with a book, or drinks/cocktails at the end of the day. The sound system makes it a party for everyone with a wide variety of music . Fully stocked kitchen with plenty of spices. Every room in the lodge is unique in its own way with the watchful eye of its most honourable owner "Tank". The location is perfect , just a short drive for groceries and conveinances. And a short drive to marinas, Burt and Mullett Lakes are wonderful , with the Indian River separating the two , it makes for a wonderful day on the boat! The basement is beautiful, theres plenty of room for everyone here . We had eight adults and three small children, beds for everyone. With enough adult supervision our grandson was able to work on his climbing up and down the stairs technique. The five and three year olds were too busy exploring , the trail to the river, the trail off the campfire pit, the huge porch with chipmunks and birds within reach. Sandie was always very helpful and mindful of the needs of her guests. We've rented a few cabins in the past and this was undoubtably one of the best if not the best ! Beautiful setting, top notch accomodations and wonderfully courteous owners. My favorite thing was " The Sturgeon", whoever did that was pretty darn crafty! My only regret was that I could not drink my coffee on the front porch in the morning snuggled in a warm sweatshirt listening to the rain come down , because the weather was perfect all week long! Oh well, would love to come back in the fall!"

"Luckily, we had a HOT week, at Higgins Lake... It was such a pleasure to come in from the water and have A/C. This cottage is in a great location, a good family cottage, with a good beach, that you can walk out, into the water, for quite a ways, in a sandy part of the lake. We had the grandkids with us, so this was important. The cottage has a homey atmosphere and porch views are incredible. The tranquility of this place, says it all.
The property manager was very accommodating and was right on top of the few issues that we had.
The Dish TV and phone reception were good. I've booked for another week, for 2016. The cottage has an "old cottage feel, with wooden floors, and an expansive view of beautiful Higgins Lake."
I would highly recommend this place...It's just perfect to "chillax" and enjoy the beauty and sounds of silence. Another Higgins Lake memory..."

"This is a nice cottage, perfect for the price and size. It is remote and very quiet, but we went into tawas city to get groceries, the lake huron beach, a breakfast place (white tail?) and some miniature golf. we also chartered a fishing boat to get some walleye. the store across the street was great and friendly. we bought wood from the store and had a couple fires. the lake was nice and I walked out at least 100ft and was still not over my head. kids can swim, play and have fun with ducks....thanks susan."

"My wife, adult son and I spent a week at the cottage near the fall foliage peak. The cottage met and exceeded our expectations. The welcoming gift package was well enjoyed and we enjoyed the MOOSE theme. On our first day there we committed to counting ALL the moose but we never completed the mission and I suspect we could not have arrived at an accurate count! The week we were there was unfortunately very rainy yet we remained very busy visiting sites in the area and we truly enjoyed our stay in the cottage. The cottage is very well appointed and very well equipped. We prepare most of our meals and I cannot think of any kitchen item which was not supplied. The yard and beach are awesome and the cottage is so convenient to town, just a couple minutes away. It is so much better than staying in a cramped motel room. Everything was so clean and nicely appointed, I cannot think of a single criticism. Thank you so much Dick and Sue for the great accommodations. We also playing with the nostalgic games and engaging books! We would not hesitate to return again in the future. With the Headlands International Dark Sky Park, Wilderness State park, McGulpin Point lighthouse and Fort Michilmackinac all within a few minutes there is so much to do without even spending a minute in town or on the island. Great place to visit and much thanks for your reasonable rate during our stay."
